Eringiffin's Journal, 14 November 2012

I feel really stressed out today. Every once in a while life just seems too overwhelming to deal with. I gotta find a way to chill out.

Ironically, things are going very well. The weigh in at the medical center went well. I lost 5.8 lbs this last week according to their scale. Work is going good. I helped bring in some additional business and made the sales rep very happy.

I think it's Thanksgiving that has me on edge. I don't know why I get so freaked out but I feel like everyone in my family has all these expectations of what Thanksgiving ought to be and I am on the hook to deliver it to them.

So I am making a list of (non-calorific) things that help me to relax and I am curious to know what things my FS buddies do to relax, so please, chime in!

1. Drink a hot drink like coffee or tea
2. Do laundry - weird, I know, but having all my clothes clean and organized makes me happy
3. Read a book
4. Paint
5. Go to the gym??
6. Bury my head in a pillow and scream as loud as I can
7. Watch internet videos of cats
8. quality time with DH
9. Take a hot shower
10. Sing along with the radio
11. Make a thankfulness list...

Today I am thankful for a good weekly weight loss. I am thankful for a clean car. I am thankful that this week is already 1/2 over.

I like to go for a stroll and listen to music as loud as my poor ears will handle it. Gotta choose the right tunes tho.

Congrats on the weight loss; that is great! I think a lot of us get wired at the holidays and feel the pressure, and that is unfortunate because thn it means we do not get to enjoy it as much as we could or should. I hope you get to enjoy it. I like to take a long hot soak in the bath tub.

I like to play music and dance my way through chores, or just for the heck of it. I like to tell a FS member how great they're doing (yes, I mean you) .

Congrats on the weight loss, I love your list of ways to relax & it's good to have one!! Sometimes I take a steaming hot shower to clear my thoughts, crank some music, do some arts & crafts or just snuggle up with my animals and take a nap. Sometimes I like to cook something new and see it turn it out great! :)

Today I took a sick day - I felt overwhelmed with all my "stuff" and needed the down time. I'm going to try the hot beverage now because I am over my RDI and want more chocolate. I completely understand what you are going through. We will get through this. :)

Music does it for me...I danced in my kitchen this morning for no reason. Ok, this is personal, but you left something out that you may want to talk to hubby about...it starts with s and ends with ex. I miss it so I dance in my kitchen. You know I will help you with thanksgiving, just call me. And a nice walk in the hills might help you, too!

Debbie, #8 is my PC way of adding that to the list ;) The problem is, it takes two to tango and he is kind of wiped out at the end of most days. There is always the battery operated back up plan, but I prefer to save that for emergencies, lol.

Last night I worked on some things that I have been procrastinating on and that seemed to reduce my stress a bit. I had a little square of chocolate, too. ;)

Wow lady, congrats on the weight loss! Especially to their scales because their scales always want to add 10lbs to my at home weight hehe.. I like watching cartoons :) Kinda puts me back in that kiddie state when I had NOTHING to worry about.
