I went to Buffalo Wild Wings last night to watch a basketball game. I had a salad and admittedly too much Coke Zero. It really felt good having the self discipline to order a salad there, when for most of my life I would have eaten a whole order of wings by myself, plus an entree. I drank like 5 Coke Zeros - I admit that not even me should have this much diet soda, but it was just so delicious. When I go out to eat, and a place has Coke Zero, it's like they have Moet Chandon on their menu, that's how much more I like it than regular Diet Coke. Or even Diet Pepsi. I have relaxed my caffeine intake because it is just too much for me right now. I still struggle with too much diet soda, too much decaf coffee, but I am frikkin' human right now and it makes me feel better and I don't feel mentally well enough to castigate myself for my beverage shortcomings right now. So I just drink up and enjoy. I have had a couple of days of really indulging myself with the calories, so I am going to try to do better today. I also intend to run tonight at the gym. I took a strength/cardio class yesterday, which went pretty well. I am up to using a 6 pound bar, or 4 pound dumbbells, which isn't a lot, but I only started taking classes 3 weeks ago and I had to start out with a 4 pound bar and 3 pound dumbbells. So I am actually making a weee little bit of progress. So that's good. I do want to kick up the speed on the treadmill with my running, but it is so important to me to run 3.2 miles every time I get on the treadmill. I guess I could kick it up to 4.1 miles today, and just see how far I can go. I have read that sometimes it is good to run intervals - like run a mile one day as fast as you can, then run 2 miles the next time you run, then the next time run 3.2 miles. I guess I could try that. I really, really want to run faster. If one day I could get up to 5.0 miles an hour, that would be such a victory.

LOL - so glad you have your sense of humor intact - Moet Chandon=Coke Zero!!!! And a salad at Wild Wings is amazingly great discipline! Rock On!
