Didn't get around to posting either Friday or Saturday's workout, so playing catch up here!
Friday Weights: (I was late to the gym, so only got an hour in rather than my normal 1.5 to 2. However, I did notice I ran heavier weights.)
Overhead Row @ 270#: 5 reps 90 second rest @ 300# (the first time I tried this a couple weeks ago, 300# lifted me off the seat and almost tipped the machine over!): 5 reps -- with much better control and no machine rocking. 90 second rest 5 reps 90 second rest 5 reps 90 second rest 5 reps 90 second rest
Farmer Carry @ 80# per arm: 27 steps 90 second rest 40 steps 90 second rest @ 90# per arm: 30 steps 90 second rest 40 steps 90 second rest 50 steps 90 second rest
Chest Press @ 205#: 2 reps 90 second rest 2 reps 90 second rest 2 reps 90 second rest 2 reps Done!
This list is a lot shorter than what I’m used to, but I did go heavier the whole way, so that’s progress.
Saturday, we met up at the gym for some more running. 3.1 miles (5K), counted in 1/10 mile laps rather than timed. I walked 2 laps to warm up, ran 10 laps, walked 3, ran 5, walked 3, ran 2, walked 3, ran 2, walked the last. I ran my first full mile in at least a decade on Saturday! Sunday is rest (and church) day. Tomorrow, I’ll be back in the gym for weights. I think I’m going for the trap bar for my farmer carry rather than dumbbells, give that a try.
