I am in a rut. I have been in denial for awhile but I am facing the fact that something has got to give. I need to spend a little more time on things that will build me up. Instead, I have been steadily retracting from life and going into hibernation mode. Time to wake up!

Up until the last month or so, I have been smooth sailing through this diet. I guess I underestimated how hard it gets eventually. This is where true character gets tested. Do I have what it takes to go the distance? I know that I get pretty pissed when people tell me I can't do something, so, somewhere inside I do think I have what it takes. I am not satisfied with my current body shape not to mention my BMI is still too high. Sometimes you just have to be your own cheerleader.

Yep, ruts are easy. And the only difference between a rut & a grave is the depth. My advice is the same I'm giving myself - remember the first few months of this 'change in eating' and the things you did then that helped you reach where you are NOW. Tremendous progress by the way! For me, whenever my weight loss flatlined in the past, I would make the effort to go GROCERY shopping. I know that seemed crazy .... anywhere / anthing BUT food, right? But I would go find a new 'good for me' food to try in order to get out of the 'same food, different day, nothing is changing' rut that makes a dieter want to give up and toss it all away. THIS time ~ I'm finding healthy alternatives so that I'm not starving and prone to falling off the wagon. My latest fav is caramel flavored cheerios ... makes a great snack 'dry' so I get the sweet, the crunchy and I make myself slow down and eat them ONE at a time. Most of the time I don't even finish the portion I've allowed myself.

Thanks for the advice @FullaBella. Coming from someone who has definitely been there, it means a lot. When I think back to when I started, I know I was eating more veggies and less fat and less pre-processed foods. I got sick of all the chopping and pre-planning but I know that was a key to my success and even more so, my feeling fuller, satisfied, and having more energy. I know the what I need to do, now I need to take a page from the Nike book and Just Do It. I am going to muster up some will power to get my butt into the grocery store tonight.
