Bianca Castafiore's Journal, 04 January 2019

Well, i just wanted to talk to someone, and i know you guys will hear me. I always find a way to put rules on myself and ban stuff from my life, i keep it up for 2 days then i crack. And the second day i feel like s***t...

I always say i should never put rules because i will break them, but i say again without rules i wont do anything, like dieting or exercising and stuff.

The night comes and i always feel like crying because its too hard to keep the promise or because i broke the promise ....

Pffffff, im tired of myself...

😕

awww so sorry you're having a tough time. don't beat yourself up. there is an old saying what you resist persists. so try not to look at things as a diet if possible and don't go too extreme. When you're climbing a mountain you only get there one step at a time you can do the same thing with your diet. So today decide to not do or eat one thing and say to yourself this is just for today. maybe if your weakness is cookies don't need a cookie if your weaknesses chips don't eat chips if your weakness is bread don't need any bread. try to pick one thing and let us know how that works. And remember to tell yourself it's only for today

I think... we are all our toughest critics. I’m not sure why that is. I like the exercise of pretending this was your best friend or your Mother telling you they were sick of themselves, what would you tell them? I bet you’d be a lot gentler and you might say, hey, you are doing your best and all you can do is keep trying to do your best. Going cold turkey on a habit is ridiculously hard to do, for anyone! It takes falling down a few times before a new habit sticks. Don’t give up.

Ahhh BIG hug my friend, stay strong I know it’s tough some days but just focus on one day at a time. That’s all I will do is just think about today, don’t worry about tomorrow it will come and deal with it then. 😌🙏🏼

Focus on what you did well rather than what you didn’t. What did you do that you are proud of? Did you do something for yourself? Self care isn’t always about weight and exercise, sometimes it’s ok to take a break and rest. Make a list of 5 of your strengths

I think it’s great to vent and get it out so you can move forward! You’ve accomplished a lot building new healthy habits and you must feel great about that! Big hugs, and don’t forget how awesome you are!

I read an article on incremental change a while ago.. and I think there's something to that. If the "rule" is rather simple and easy to accomplish (no more soda pop).. and then the next "rule" is, again, a marginal and easy to accomplish change (no more french fries).. over time, the change will become significant, but incrementally much easier to accomplish and less likely to result in a sense of "failure" that the typical "stay under X calories every day" sort of thing... https://michaelhyatt.com/the-power-of-incremental-change-over-time/

Good - we all need to do that once in awhile. Another thing that helped me - I've done some reflecting on all of the positive things I did in 2018 - mind/body/spirit. Once you start thinking about it - it really is amazing what we have accomplished when we think about it! Looking forward to seeing your list!

I not sure what I weigh, I don’t have scales at home, I used too but it rules my life....I weigh 155, trying to get to 130lbs. I’m 60 and have thyroid problems so if I can do it, anyone can.....😊
