Feeling much better physically. Found out the debilitating back pain was mostly a reaction to medication I was taking for my cholesterol. I quit the medication on 12/25 and have about 80% improvement of the back pain. Amazing! Not weighing myself again until Monday, but doing pretty good calorie-wise. Now I just need to work on healthier food choices. I am still eating my "sweet treat" every night. For those that do not know, I am a recovering alcoholic/addict with four years sobriety. I have replaced my using with food :( causing a 100 hundred pound weight gain over that four years. I know my nightly sweet is an emotional replacement for my drinking, so in time, I think I will be able to replace the sweet with a healthier option.
I see my primary care doctor on January 16th and am hoping to show at least a 6 pound weight loss since the previous month. My doctor had prescribed Phentermine in November and I did not lose a pound the entire month. Last month she added Trokendi XR to the Phentermine, and that seems to have lessened my appetite. I am also seeing a psychologist that is helping me combat the emotional reasons that I eat. I have a whole team working for me lol. If that's what it takes, I'll do it. Food is the hardest addiction I have had to conquer because one cannot just stop eating. I find sharing my feelings and progress is helping me with achieving my goals. Maybe something I say will resonate with someone else as well. Happy New Year to all of my Fat Secret friends!
