Started logging ‘dinner’ with foods I could easily grab like popcorn, cheese etc. Quickly realized that this would end up being an 800 calorie meal easily and not all that filling. Looked through past food logs and thought of tuna. So I’m having a tuna salad sandwich with chips and an apple. Made two cans of tuna so I should be full after this meal. 555 kcal so not hard on the calorie bank either. Just because I’m stressed and upset doesn’t mean I have to make bad choices. This may not be a well balanced meal that I wanted but it’s better than lots of snack foods. Kids decided they weren’t hungry after all. Or at least said they could eat a cookie but didn’t want a ‘meal’. Probably just trying to get another snack cake as I’m limiting them for health reasons and trying to get them to choose healthier options like fruit or more filling options like a sandwich. So I’ll sit here and eat and think through things. I have a candy bar beside me in case I need it so I won’t run in and grab every candy bar we have. I could easily slip back into eating lots of junk so this is my way of ‘planning’ it so I won’t feel guilty and keep it to just one. Hopefully these choices won’t bite me in the rear later as I’m still on track for the week so far. Actually about 800-1000 under the plan 😉.

Good job! You're figuring it out and finding what works. Funny how after we make a good decision, we realize how easy it is. 👍 😊

Thanks guys :). I’m still hungry lol. But the candy bar is still sitting here too. I get frustrated and then childish thinking ‘why should I make a good choice when I don’t want to’ lol. If I wait a bit then I realize I’ll feel guilty and it’s not worth it. If I’m gonna spurge I’m gonna do it right with pizza, donuts, cookies and chocolate... all together or any combination of those! I’m not going to do it wrong and have lots of little snacks. The big meal/snacks would have a bigger impact on cravings. So since I’ve made some decent choices lately I’m giving myself a pass at some point in the next two weeks. I’ll eat whatever I want as long as I keep it under 2000. It’s going to be a fun and fabulous day haha. Holidays will be hard I think but if I stay under 2000 those two days then I get one in town treat to be decided later.
