Tried my best to log lunch. School thanksgiving feast with the kiddos today. They give us the same portions as all kids from PreK to 5th. I’m hoping it’ll be the normal portion size for turkey. I haven’t eaten turkey since I started here so no idea on eye balling portions! I can do the roll, butter, potatoes and gravy. Hubby or the Kids get my (nasty) stuffing lol. It’s not like turkey is high calorie or high fat or anything so if I’m not close it shouldn’t hurt. In past years we’ve gotten a small handful of shredded turkey, maybe 3/4 c if I had to guess. I’ll finish the 4 year olds turkey I bet or my 9 year olds as she wants to trade her turkey for my stuffing lol. Both eat like birds! Yet the middle 9 yr old ate a whole #1 sonic meal the other night so I may come home hungry and looking for something lol.

You never can tell with kids, can ya. Sometimes they eat nothing, sometimes you can't feed them enough. Growth spurts? I'm going out to lunch today with the grandkids, and that little sweetie can pack it away! We were going to go for pizza because yesterday I had a hankering for it but not so much this morning so I asked her what she'd prefer. Sushi it is! It'll probably cost me more than a pizza would have, but what the hell. :)

Sushi here is way more than a pizza. We don’t have the ‘real’ sushi and it’s still a dollar for two 1/4” thick pieces the size of a quarter. My middle hasn’t really grown in years. She’s on the low end of all the charts. I’m not worried though as my great aunts are around 4’9”. I’m the taller blood related female on that side at 5’3”. Keep in mind it’s just me, those two aunts and a female cousin lol. The two older cousins, 10-15 years my junior though, are right about my height. We haven’t compared since they’ve become adults. My 12 yr old had a pooch which means she’s going to grow. Again. She will take after hubbys side I think. He’s the runt at 6’. The men and half the women range from 5’10 to over 7’! His sister is 5’10 then him at 6’. She wears a 9 in women’s and 7.5 in men’s shoes already! Her bone structure is closer to mine however so I don’t think she will have the weight issues his side has.

And yes, some days you just don’t know how they’ll eat. Today my middle picked at her food. The youngest at 4 ate almost the same! There wasn’t a lot of food either. I ate my whole plate and half the youngest’s turkey and potatoes that she didn’t want. I was satisfied but by no means full. Very little food for a 800 calorie meal haha. Worth it because this is special and important to the kids. They tried to foist their dessert and other food on me but I passed it on to hubby. He’s used to eating 3-4 times that amount at a sitting but said with his meal and finishing theirs he was comfortable. He basically had 2-2.5 of the plates I posted. Those are the styrofoam plates with 2” squares for the food. I passed on my stuffing and left a lot of the butter 😉. Now movie time with the kids as we checked them out for an extra half day of break. Snacks today and next week may break my calorie bank haha.
