Eringiffin's Journal, 06 September 2012

The weigh in at the dr. office went well. I am down 1.7 lbs. since last Thursday. Nevermind the fact that I still have 1.8 lbs to lose before I am back to what I weighed last Sunday. I will get there, though.

I am still working out the kinks of my diet change. Plus adding exercise into the mix is going to complicate things. There is that fine line between eating enough and eating too much. I am worried about exercising while on a low carb diet because of the whole glycogen thing which I don't fully understand. The last thing I want to do is start exercising only to have my body start converting muscle to energy instead of the fat. Maybe I will pose that question to the forum folks but that will likely spark another low carb vs low fat vs calorie counting flame war. *yawn*

Today I am especially thankful for liking my work and having a good work environment that is close to home. I am thankful for the increasing availability of organic foods and grass-fed, free range meat products. I am thankful for this new lease on life I have purchased through weight loss. I used to be ambivalent about the future and now I actually look forward to what lies ahead.

Erin, have you considered a cyclical ketogenic diet? Conventional wisdom recommends that for low-carb dieters who want to do some more intense exercise/weight training.

Hmm, @Nimm, I will have to do some research on that. I have never heard of it. Thanks for the tip!
