I broke my toenail catching a watermelon that rolled out of the back of our Outback, the day after my pedicure (the one I got so my toes will look good on our trip to DC). I reflexively caught it on my foot so it wouldn't break open on the storm drain at the foot of our driveway.

I'm talking a big chunk, not to painful, except to look at. Yesterday at Fred Meyer I found the same color of OPI polish I used had applied in my pedicure. I came home, trimmed my nail, covered the divot, then painted the whole toenail with another coat. It looks fine! Long story a little shorter, one of the things I'm thankful for was that I was able to fix my big toenail. Hmmm, I'm thinking that watermelon better be pretty darn good tonight!

I'm tired today; didn't do as well in Zumba today, though I still had a good work out and a good time. I took one of my gym buddies a recipe from this site for a Turkey Taco Bake; hope she likes it as much as we did! I don't have the focus to do my paperwork, so it will have to be done this weekend. C'est la vie.

We have some really ripe bananas, so I used some in a recipe I found here, for Oatmeal Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies. The house smells great and I've only eaten one; an incredible feat since I used mini chocolate chips and I'm tired. Whole wheat flour, whole oats, flaxseed meal, agave, banana; all good-for-you stuff, in moderation. :o)

We're going down to the Woodburn Outlet Mall this evening, since almost all my clothes are too big now. I should make a cup of tea or something to perk me up; big back-to-school sale and it should be a madhouse down there. No, no more cookies for Kat!

Argh, why does See's have an ad on this site? I don't even like peanut brittle much, but when I'm tired, it reminds me that there's a See's 1.6 miles away and chocolate perks me up... no, I'm not really tempted, just being goofy.

OK, getting up & making a cup of coffee....

When I began reading your journal, I was crossing my fingers you didn't break your toe... what a relief as I read further along. By the way, CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW COLOR! Blue becomes you!

Hope your watermelon is good. I had to return one last weekend. :( Glad you fixed your toe. The recipes you mention both sound great. I'm going to look for them to try. I have submitted a pretty good "Banana Oat Bran Muffin" recipe but it has not been "approved" yet. Great for 2 ripe bananas! About 130 calories each (not including butter):)

Thanks. Jenkie5, the bluee was a pleasant surprise; pretty, too. Neptune., the watermelon was pretty good. Too bad we can't access each others coobooks; that recipe sounds like a good way to use the last of my bananas.
