MY PUBLIC SERVICE ADVICE: Ladies, here is the short version, wash your hands after handing money! Here is why! In Jan. I had surgery for a trigger finger and the doctor put me on light duty. I work in retail and the only light duty at my job is at the register, 42 days after surgery my finger became infected and had to be debried ( surgery again and very painful). Last week, I became ill and ended up in the ER. Well, finger was infected again, this time doctor did culture on the infection and had to do surgery AGAIN! I found out yesterday what the infection was and let say with out a doubt this is the grossest thing I can think of. WARNING if you dont want to know dont read any further. IT was bacteria from diaper poop. Not even in my wildest dreams would I have thought that. My health paid a price for someone's total disrespect for others.
I know this has nothing to with dieting but I had to share this with all of you. Please be careful. I am still paying the price of this infection. Still am having headaches, still cant eat much, and still having to deal with this darn finger STILL, 5 months after the first surgery. Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe, healthy day.

You poor dear. I knew money was filthy, but ewwwwwww! I guess there are ppl out there willing to put their children's health at risk by not washing after changing diapers. That is just too gross to even think of. I carry around hand sanitizer, but I don't think to use it all that often. Thanks for the heads up.

Oh Goodness. A while back I bought bottles and bottles of the hand santizer and placed them all over my office for the same reason. I hope you feel better soon.

Wow, I am so sorry to hear that you are dealing with this. I saw something on TV not too long ago that showed just how dirty money is. They did analysis of money and found feces, urine, semen, drugs, and other disgusting things. I know our finger is hurting. Is there anyway you can use some sort of bandage over it while it's healing?

Wow, makes you want to wear gloves all the time!! That is just terrible. Sorry that you are having such a hard time with this. Makes me wonder why anyone would not wash their hands after changing a baby's diaper. Hope you get better soon!

Hi,
I work at a hospital and gal who runs the register only does that. They even wear gloves now. Think of where people put there money; in their socks, bras, the list can go on. I know many people don't like to use credit/debt cards and still think cash is the way to go but I like my Visa check card because nobody else touches it.
I am so sorry to hear about your infortunate circumstance. I hope you stay strong and fight this. You have done your part on educating the rest of us. Keep educating family, friends, passing acquaintances, and the public. That is the best thing that you can do to prevent someone else from this happening to them. I buy sample size of lotion/sanitizers for my purse/vehicle/work bag and so on. I even gave them as gifts to my girls and co-workers for X-mas last year. I will spread the news myself. Thanks so much for sharing.
