Eringiffin's Journal, 22 August 2012

So the weigh in at the dr. office this morning was not so bad. I am up 4.8 lbs. from last week's weigh in which is really good considering 2 days ago I had been up 10 lbs.

I discussed with him the possibility of going off of the presription appetite suppressant and he was open to the idea, so next week I will start using the herbal appetite suppressant on a trial basis. I haven't had any trouble with the prescription but I worry about long term effects of such things. So, if I can continue to lose weight without it, I will be very happy. Having the support of all my FatSecret friends helps immensely.

Things are looking up on the family front and I may be going on another weekend trip this weekend. It will be less perilous on the diet than last week, hehe, just a friendly pot luck with a bunch of senior citizens, so at least I know I won't be eating a lot of sodium. I will be bringing sugar free jello with fruit. I was thinking to add raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries but I worry about whether the seeds will be a problem for people with dentures. I want to stay away from high carb fruits like oranges and bananas, though. Suggestions?

I am grateful for so many things today...

The B6/B12 shot I get on weigh in days really makes me feel good.

It rained a ton last night, which was desperately needed.

That's a good idea about the seeds. I make raspberry jam every year (got a raspberry patch in the back yard) and the seeds can be annoying even without dentures. Strawberries and blueberries should be ok on the denture front, I'd think. Several relatives and friends are diabetic, so this year I'm going to try at least making a batch or so with agave nectar rather than sugar, to help with reduced calories and a better glycemic index.
