.... Evening check in. I’ve gone to see my mom who returned from her trip abroad, we had tea and cookies, and she showed me all her photos. The food photos are my favorite! I’ll post some here later. My uncle is quite ill, and this trip was very important for her to discuss funeral things. They really managed to have a wonderful time, too. My family loves to travel, and she’s so proud of our heritage that I am hoping this trip gives her happiness for a long time. I haven’t been since I was in high school, so it’s a plan for me to return to the old country in 5 years. Her photos brought back so many awesome memories. I’m half Danish, and she took photos of many Danish women who look much like me. She bought me the item I requested: a Danish H&M’ bikini. It’s so beautiful, and nothing like I’ve ever seen before. I’ll probably post pictures later of that, too. I tried on the suit for her, and had a blast monkeying around with the fancy ties and straps. Ughhh fashion is so much fun! We then went back to my place where my husband was making dinner. I splurged on bread for the first time in months and months, as he made whole wheat French toast with vegetarian bacon and cantaloupe. I have been buying sugar free syrup. Dinner is done, and everyone left except for my 5 yo and me.

I logged my meals, and see I don’t really have a deficit today. I probably will tomorrow though and then the rest of the week. Tomorrow I have orientation at the Maritime School of Excellence, and I’m very excited. I have my clothes picked out, coffee pot set up, new lunch pail packed. I know it’s going to be nonstop adjustments to my new position, and I’m going to be ready for it. I’ve worked for this, and now it’s all coming together.

It’s raining here, and as expected, my right hip is screaming. I’m procrastinating my shower. The leaner I get the louder that pain seems to be. I just need a couple years at my union job and I’ll be able to get back surgery, hip replacement, physical therapy. Those definitely weren’t options for me before. My right foot has been going numb during my running, but I’m always able to recognize that and adjust .....

A very very busy week ahead. I’m so freakin grateful for everything I have to do, it’s not going to be torture. Football, Cross county, Work, Daycare, high school and elementary school orientations. This is it, the good life. What nobody tells me is how much work the good life is!

I really hope everyone has had a great day today, please be kind to yourself. 💋
