Just purchased Vitamix (basic) blender. No LED's. No presets. Basic top-quality motor without useless frills. Less than $400. Stopped off at Wholefoods and raided the produce section. Far more vegetables than fruit. Staying clear of sugar in fruits. Only two meals per day works for me.
Same breakfast
1/4 cup raw oatmeal
1 tbsp fine ground flax seed • hemp seed
1/4 cup blueberries
1 oz walnuts (or pistachios)
1/4 cup plain kefir
3 tbsp plain Brown Cow yogurt.
Joel Fuhrman's multivitamin for men plus turmeric, Vit D and vit C 1000 tablet(s).

Salad / lunch
2 cups spinach
1/4 cup onion
1/4 cup sautéed mushrooms
1/4 cup kidney or black beans
1 Trident Wild Salmon burger (really delicious from CostCo in Marin)
1/2 avocado
1/2 yellow / orange bell pepper
less than 1/4 cup Dr. Furhman's salad dressing - also many tasty selections

Only snack is Skinny corn cake with 1 tbs Whole Foods 365 lime hummus.

That's it.

How can I improve?
More activities - at least 30 minutes every single day. Not quite there.
Slow down when preparing meals. Try to think only of the food being prepared rather than "issues at hand."
DON'T watch television while preparing nor eating - EVER!!
Silence is a wonderful thing. Allows the mind, heart and soul to interact in wonderful ways. As a culture, American is always working hard to anesthetize our soul with way too much food, music/sounds, activities and habitual worry. I'm a culprit. I find that when I turn off the damn stereo/radio (news included) and hear nothing, I instantly begin to hear my inner voice/soul working with images. Some upsetting and others quite wonderful. I've come to the conclusion that too much music clutters the soul and sends it into hiding.

Enough with this morning ramble. Time to get on with the day.
