(knock on wood)

Been on low carb for 2.5 years. Honestly, it doesn't even matter that I lost 35-40lbs in that time frame. A notable NSV is that I haven't been sick in over 2.5 years. Again, knock on wood. During this time period I've been directly exposed to a lot of sick people. Not only in the general public but I've spent a LOT of time in hospitals, clinics and nursing homes over the past two years while being a cancer caregiver. I used to get sick 1-2 times a year and now it's zero. Coincidence or something to do with LCHF/Modified Atkins/keto? NSV's!

I have significantly reduced my carbs over the past year and I have to agree with this. I've also noticed that I don't get sick nearly as often, and when I do, it doesn't last nearly as long (family had influenza, daughter ended up in the hospital, hubby was out of work for 2 weeks and I was sick for maybe 3 days). I think it is just giving the body what it needs instead of just what the mouth wants, it has the strength to fight infection. Even my seasonal allergies and pet allergies aren't as severe as they use to be. Losing weight is wonderful, but the real reward has been the increased health.

Same with fasting. Entire office was sick recently, I totally felt fine the entire time.

Glad to hear your NSV's! To be fair, there is a good chance that being very low gluten/gluten free plays a factor in allergies and the ability to fight bugs. When of a super SAD diet my pollen and grass allergies got pretty bad. Now only on very heavy days I notice just a little bit of sinus pressure vs being debilitated.
