If you need a good eye roll have a look at this article:

http://thighgaphack.com/myth-women-cant-gain-muscles-deficit/

It’s basically states that if a woman has a moderate caloric deficit and works out she will gain ‘unsightly’ muscles. She needs to lower her protein because she doesn’t need 1g/lb of body weight. Pretty sure this was written by someone who was raised way back when... Give me those muscles! I don’t mind ‘skinny fat’ as I have been there and it’s better than just far on my small frame but I’d rather have ‘manly’ muscles ;). 💪 Actually want just enough to have decent definition when flexed 👍🤩.

It won’t let me copy in the app :/. Will the link show on the website? If so I can easily get it from there. I’m on my phone and rarely use a computer. BUT I could leave it up on my iPad ;). I do have a few articles saved there that I haven’t gotten around to reading yet.

Pepperjj I’m so sorry, besides the odd number...they went so close to each other

Thanks. For my family it seems like we lose several loved ones close together like that every few years. Lost a great aunt (my youngest was named after her) in May this year so my odd year theory doesn’t lay out always. I cared for my mom for 3 months straight with only 1-2 days away per week and some times I’d stay 10-16 days straight. Dad wouldn’t let me help and my stepdad tried to shield me. I held all that in and sometimes it comes bubbling out in the form of anger when something is triggered within me. I went from 136 to 107 when Mom was sick. Then started gaining when my stepdad got sick. So stress sort of gave me eating issues as well as out bursts and anxiety that I can’t control :/. I’m all messed up lol. But counseling is helping somewhat, meds are helping me not to get too depressed and take away the daily anxiety for the most part and FS and you lovely people are helping with my eating issues. It’ll all work out 😁.

I too have a few skeletons in the closet, but not brave enough to share

Sharing helps the heart heal

Yes it does! I have a friend that our whole friendship revolves around venting, children advice and crying/talking about things that have happened to us. I never realized the benefits of a friend like that. We are each other’s free counselors ;). I also have a counselor that I’ve been going to for about a year now. We haven’t went into the family issues yet. Worked on marriage, kids, losing weight, loving myself, cancer and family members with whom I need to set boundaries and stick to them. Making progress but it’s slow with only 50 minutes a week. Plus now I’ve put my stuff on hold to deal with my oldest who is having behavioral issues that my dieting and working out seem to have made it worse for her. (Why should she eat healthy when I’m the fat one. Why doesn’t she deserve everything she wants. Why am I spending 3 hours a week at the gym for myself when I won’t let her have sleepovers the night before. You get the jist😳)

But Rosio, I believe there is a message function on the website. If you EVER need to let it out please feel free to message me and let me know on here that you did so I can check it! I’ve learned that talking to a stranger can sometimes make it easier to bring the issues to a loved one so we can work on it or realize that I’m making a mistake and that I need to work on it.

That’s the kind of bs that we don’t need. Young women starving them selves. Makes my heart hurt for so many girls I know who think they are fat because of garbage like that ☹️

Same here. You can be beautiful at any size with any amount of muscle(but let’s face it, “stick figures” like I had for awhile just isn’t all that sexy). But it just throws me that it would be recommended by a website to NOT do any resistance training because a woman would end up looking like a man. It also, in my opinion, makes it seem like it’s easy to look all nice and ripped. Those men, and women, work very hard and for many years to get like that. We as women won’t look like a big hulking man by lifting 5, 10 or even 15# weights. Muscle does so much for us. I lean toward thinking a bit too much muscle is better than not enough. I’m sad for women who grew up thinking the way this article ‘thinks’. Glad we have better information now!
