Monday the 18th is THE BIG DAY. After 14 years of very hard work by the medical community and the .Center for Sciece in the Public Interest, artificial trans fats will finally be completely gone from our foods. The CSPI is a non profit advocacy organization that provides consumers with information about their health and well being. Maybe some of the FS community subscribe to or follow the publication called Nutritional Action. They have scientists and nutritionists who sort through all the latest research and report to their readers what is wrong and what is right with brand named.packaged foods, fresh foods, resturaunt dishes and supplements.. these are both organizations that take no money from anyone and are therefore free to report the GB & U. I have participated with, and have followed both organizations for years. I received my very first copy of Nutritional Action from my physician’s office.

Now we just have to figure out how to get people to take a proactive approach to their health and wellness at an earlier age instead of trying to close the barn door and chase the horses after they are already long gone. The information is out there. Nothing is stagnant. Information on any subject whether it is cancer treatment, diet, exercise— it is OUT THERE. New stuff is being learned every single day that always has and always will change everything about our lives and how we live, the thing we believe to be true—and false. It is our responsibility to try to follow what is happening in the world. We are so lucky to have access to information that is written in a way to make it more easily understood by those of us who are not scientists.
