Weekend was awesome, wedding was awesome, but I'm not recording my food intake since I'm pretty sure saturday was in excess of 3,000 and I'm in denial. I've been eating like crap for a few days b/c I didn't want to go grocery shopping since I'll be away the rest of the week.

Tomorrow is the big day.... the move to California for the BF. Our flight is at 10am, so we need to catch a 7:30 train to the airport. We started making some plans for the week - we're going to try to do a twilight deep sea fishing tour one night, a wine tasting trolley tour another day, and hit the beach (I'll be at the beach while he's at work). I'm definitely going to try to squeeze some beach WOD's in, which I'm excited about! I emailed a local crossfit about dropping in for a WOD, but I haven't heard back from them :( Maybe I'll try giving them a call tomorrow once we land.

No Crossfit tonight - the whole gym is going out to the Phillies game, so classes are cancelled. BUT, this means I can go running for the first time in over a month!! I'm actually rather excited. I'm curious to see how my fitness levels compare to what they were before now that I've been crossfitting.

Also, I'm considering taking the plunge and trying the Paleo diet once I return from Cali... Lindsay, I know you've been doing it. Any tips??

don't taste too much wine on the trolley or you might get sick! or wear white for that matter - spillage! or...is it just a trolley that takes you from wine bar to winery to wine bar? that makes more sense...

Go for it girl!! I hope you have a great time on your trip-I know it's bittersweet, but try to just live in the moment and not think about how much you'll miss him once the trip is over. As for Paleo: I think the biggest thing is prepping enough food so that you don't succomb to the bad choices. The good news: you will never feel hungry due to all the protein. I've also noticed more energy for my workouts. You will see results-and that for me was the motivation to keep going. You'll feel leaner, skin will glow. You might be irregular for a while (carbs have a way of keeping digestion regular-I take metamucil capsules to help) The first few weeks I suggest keeping it rather strict so your body can clense itself, then you can gradually add carb foods like fruits/grains/etc. Eggs for breakfast! I've started scrambling them with chopped spinach YUM! I've cooked so many alternatives-it's fun to try to make new dishes with foods you've never had before. BUT...I still HATE beets. LOL

AND...I have the perfect restaurant for you in Philly on the Paleo diet: FOGO DE CHAO. Best place ever... :-P

OMG I LOVE FOGO DE CHAO!!! We went for restaurant week a few months ago. I don't think I ate a single thing the next day because I was so full. But my god, was it delicious!! Too bad it's so expensive :( :( There's another brazillian steak house too, Chima, but I heard it's not as good... We'll see though :) I'm going to need some inspiration for new recipes. I'm a little scared of no fruit - I consider that my healthy binge!

Love it too! Been to the FOGO DE CHAO in Minneapolis b/c my friends soon-to-be-(amicable)-ex-husband works there. Going for lunch is half as expensive as supper! Mmmm all you can eat meat. At first I couldn't remember the name, so just called it "The Meatery"

I read some Paleo stuff the other day - I get the no processed food, no breads & grains...but I couldn't give up totally the dairy & legumes. No beans :( No cheese :(

Oh boy... I didn't realize the whole no beans or cheese thing... I may have a problem with this haha Maybe I'll just try cutting out refined carbs?

I have read in a few places and been told by trainers that any diet that restricts specific foods (unless you have a medical reason, like diabetes, allergy, etc) is not good. Our bodies need all of them for different nutrients. Limiting intake is one thing, but I believe that eliminating something completely is not a good thing.

So begins a new adventure! Awesome! What part of cali? I love primal, but will never skip the cheese. NEVER. I use it as a guideline. I think if it's naturally from the earth or somewhat natural without too much processing to make it edible, then go for it.

Enjoy your week in Cali! I agree with Lindsay's comment, just have fun and try not to think about the going home part. Time will just fly by! Paleo - too restrictive for me. I'd binge for sure. If you feel up to it when you get back, I say go for it!! But have fun in the meantime :)
