Trying to eat when hungry and stopping when full. Starting to regret the feeling over being over stuffed when I know I ate too much. I actually get pain in my stomach now when I over do something.
I've been trying to watch my GI index and keeping a list of the different foods that are either low or medium GI foods. I try to avoid the high GI foods and I also try to not eat medium GI foods with alot of fat. I found that some medium GI foods are still high in calories and fat and can sabatoge your diet efforts.
I am still on the road to recovery after the major absominal surgery I had on Nov 28th. I have my good days and my bad days.
on my good days I try to be extra carefull as i tend to eat more when I am feeling better. I also try to keep a daily record of what I am eating and my exercise. I find it easier to see whats going in and coming out , rather then just guessing where I am on my calorie count. Thats all for now,
Blessings,
Rebecca

When on the GI diet and trying to lose weight are you not supposed to stay away from the medium and high GI foods??? I thought you were only supposed to eat the green/low GI foods and then once you get to the weight you are happy with you are supposed to incorporate some medium/yellow GI foods but you are to remain staying away from red/high GI foods at ALL times????

Sorry took so long to read your comment. But I never read anything about staying away from medium GI Foods. Just the High ones and eating medium ones in moderation. I got this information off the internet when I typed in GI food index in google. I could be wrong. But I son't think the medium GI foods are that bad for you. And keep the fat low as well as even low GI Foods can be on the "low" list and still have alot of fat and calories. GI Foods mainly are carbohydrate foods. Protiens are not taken into account and they can contain alot of fat. Though they are Low GI. Thats all from Me. Thanks for your info. GOt any more news for me, send it my way. Always looking to learn more stuff. Rebecca

I have 4 of Rick Gallops books about the GI diet...and I've heard that each author has a different take on the GI diet so that could be the difference...I know with Rick Gallop you are only to eat the green items until you get to your goal weight and then you are to incorporate some yellow item foods.....But that's just Rick Gallops take on it :) I know I've read other cook books not by him and they do incorporate yellow light items as well, but I'm wondering if that is just for people that have diabetes and such, and are not looking to lose weight?! Is nice to have people to discuss this type of stuff with though!!! Thanks! :)
