It's Friday!

Normally, I'd say it's awesome because the weekend is upon us, but these days it's just another quiet day for me. Of course, the main difference is that I get to hang with Wife for a couple of days. :) I like that.

Yesterday, I went to see Captain. He's inherited a little bitty house in the country, and now he and his family are fixing it up. So far, it's a mess all over the place, but I can see the charm in it, and I can see what he sees in it. It's a LOT of work. He's taking it a day at a time though, and I know he'll see the project to the end.

I took the bus out there, not too big a deal, it's only a short walk. Being there I basically sat for the most of the time, just relaxing. I didn't want to strain myself too much, going out.

We ended up going to one of the local towns, to find a set of drum sticks for him. He's the drummer in my new band. This gave me something like 30 minutes of walking total, not bad. I need to get out a little every day, so this was very welcome.

The change of scenery was really nice. I needed that. I could, however, tell that I was completely beat when I came home yesterday afternoon. I really hadn't been doing anything, just taking it easy. If I sit in my own chair or his chair really shouldn't make too much of a difference. But there are always the little factors, and they all matter. It was a great day though.

Being tired, I slept ALL night. I didn't even wake up to go pee. It was nice to finally get some proper sleep.

Today, I am going to the hospital for my checkup. My surgeon is seeing me one last time before she goes on summer vacation, to see if there is anything we need to do to take care of me the next two weeks.

I have a few issues that I want to address with her.

One is the fluid problem. I feel that it is builing up again, though I feel nowhere near the discomfort I had Monday before I was drained. I'm scared what will happen if it keeps building for several weeks before we do anything again, though. I'm hoping we can drain some today.

I especially would like to get the two pockets on the backside of my hips looked at. We couldn't really drain them last time, as they were the minor issue, but they're bugging me some now.

(TMI warning!)
Then, there is a new issue. My "regular readers" know about what I call the "Deep Purple" syndrome. This is basically when the post-surgery fluids run down into my inner thighs and especially into my genitals and makes everything VERY purple and VERY sore. It feels like being kicked in the groin. Well this time there is a new thing happening in that area. I see that on the penis, there are two fluid pockets. They don't hurt, they don't bother at all, other than that they are there. They seem to be right under the skin, and it is NOT the deep red, blood looking goo that is there. It looks like clear liquid. Now, what the heck is that all about? I know, it's a lot to share, but I do want to document this part of my journey as detailed as I can, so that others can know about issues. It's definitely something I need looked into, I don't want it to suddenly start hurting or spreading. Scary!
(End of TMI warning)

Wife is coming with me to the hospital today. I'm not sure I want her to go in with me today, if they're gonna drain the fluids. She's extremely squeamish about these things, and she doesn't like to see me hurting either. So I have told her that she might want to wait outside for once, though she is more than welcome to go in with me. I just know that she will be very disturbed about all the fluids if they drain me. It looks like blood, and there is A LOT of it. It may not be something you'd want to see gushing out of someone you love. :)

Other than that I don't really have plans for today. I'm assuming I will be weak, tired and dehydrated after today, so it will most likely be straight home and just chilling the rest of the day.

Tomorrow will be shopping day, and we'll get that done - at least a little bit. It all depends on what happens today. Who knows, maybe they won't do a thing, and I'll be no better or worse than I am right now.

...

I got to hear Captain's inherited drum kit yesterday. All I can say is WOW. This is an old, classic drumkit, very limited edition. It is - to say the least - thunderous! Just what we need for the new band. We have, by the way, decided on a name for the band. I'm not sure if I have mentioned this.

We shall be named "BURN", after the Deep Purple song. This song is what started it all, it's the first song we're learning, and it's an all time favorite from both me and Captain.

I have made a logo for us. Tell me what you think. :)

I think it signals rock'n'roll, and keeps it classy. I really like it. Before you ask, no I did not design the letters. They're public domain fonts I found online. I just thought it matched PERFECT with what I wanted.

I am so excited to get going on the band. I'm trying to practice the three songs at least once a day, but it IS hard to do for me. I think of it like my walks, it's a little thing to keep me going and motivated, but I have to listen to my body to not wear myself out.

Next thing today will be playing those three songs, in a few minutes. :)

So, today I am thankful for:
- The sun seems to be coming out! Yaaaay! I hate to go out of town when it's grey and dull, or even raining!
- Positive outlooks!
- Going for the checkups and hopefully get drained.
- Morning coffee.

Happy Friday, and have a great weekend, folks! Depending on what happens today I might write a "proper" journal tomorrow, otherwise it'll be the usual short weekend stuff.

I agree with teskandar. I am impressed by your positivity. Healing can be a long and winding road. You are really doing amazingly well. I appreciate that you are documenting this for others to benefit from your experience. I also admire how proactive you are about your health care. Having a detailed agenda of your concerns to cover with the doctor is very wise. Here's to a great weekend!

Oh no King, not the pee pee! Hehe, Sorry, so much humor I can have at your expense. I know how stressful for problems to be happening in that area, or shall I say, I think I know.... Nah, I know, lol. Good luck. Good luck at the doctor too. I like the logo. Keep your mind busy, and do the right things for your body to heal. Cheers, JP
