how do you gain a pound when you keep calories just over 1,000 for the day and walk for an hour and 45 minutes can only figure my scale is off.

It depends on how long you've been dieting. Your body reduces its needs as it has survival in mind, I could put weight on with 1000 calories. Now I follow low carb and find that, within reason, calories don't matter

sometimes its water, especially if you worked out or walked longer than usual...keep trying...it'll come off

When muscles are exercised and trained (walking 45 minutes) they often hold fluid to repair themselves. I bet 1000 calories is too low for you but who knows.
