rhontique's Journal, 09 January 2017

I'm down over half of the 5 pounds I picked up over the holidays. Hoping to drop the other 2 this week. I bought almonds yesterday, I should know better! I have no portion control when it comes to nuts. This is going to be a busy week with meetings and then a birthday party on Saturday. Thankfully I am finished with W-2's, 1099's, 944's, and all the various year end financial reports for the township board that DH and I serve on. WHEW!!

What is up with almonds and the like? I keep reading that a small amount as a snack is very good for you and should help appetite control but for me it is just the opposite!! They invariably trigger a binge every time. Is there a scientific explanation? Can it be due to intolerance or is it just that I like them too much?

I love almonds also. I just love nuts, and it is hard to control the amount. We use to keep the jar on the coffee table. Now we keep it in the kitchen cabinet and measure out a hand full, or put some in a small bowl. Still want to go get more some times. They are just as bad as chocolate, but they are good for your heart and have fiber.

You've got this! Now have you thought about adding nuts into the dishes you are cooking? I.E. green beans, smoothies, popcorn, chia pudding....

Fantastic drop! I weigh out nuts and put them into my food diary before I eat them. Stops me going back for more.
