Diana 1234's Journal, 30 March 2024

Weighing in about once a week or even less has been working for me! It took me a minute to get used to it, at first the urge to weigh everyday was strong. Now I have to remind myself to weigh in. I had a couple treat days this week as we had unexpected company but was able to recover.
Still having bouts of dizziness, not as bad but I did make an appointment with regular cardiologist. Specialized cardiologist ( pacemaker Dr) doesn't feel like it's the pacemaker but most likely my low blood pressure. He says the high pacing will be watched but shouldn't make me dizzy . Sometimes makes it hard to work out. Movements that involve bending or turning quickly are tricky...Im just thankful I can still workout!💪🩷

Just be careful when you're working out. You don't want to injure yourself if you get dizzy. You're one determined cookie ❤️

Congratulations on the weight loss! Is your blood pressure always low? Is it like 90/60? I remember you wrote once it's in the single digits. Have you ever specifically seen a doctor about low BP? Maybe it's caused by a medication or some other medical condition. My first instinct would be to add more salt to my diet. The dizziness would really worry me and i probably wouldn't work out at all until that was figured out. Maybe walking

Thinking of you always Diana. 💜

Sherrye, Marlene, and Windy, Thanks guys! I am being careful. I have gone from using bar to using free weights most of time. That way if I do get dizzy and drop the weights they will most likely drop to my side as opposed to the bar which would likely drop on my head or chest 😮

Fritz, It's not meds per say, as the only meds I'm on is Synthroid. It can however be that my thyroid is low but I had it checked a month ago and all was normal. My BP is usually in double digits or low 100s ( top number) They have me tracking it and it varies from 85/51-95/68. That is low but not extremely low for me. How have you been? 🩷

Diana do you see a neurologist? Has any clinician mentioned Multi System Atrophy. Any kidney issues or bladder control issues, or eye sight issues? Are they tracking your sodium and potassium levels. A very low blood pressure is not normal for anyone. There is a risk of blood clot formation and other issues.

Feel so much better!

Diana, I'm just tired. It seems like every day I have at least one or two appointments for things that need to be done before putting the house on the market. I'm a little worried I may be hurting my knee even more. I finally will see the 2nd orthopedist on Tuesday, unless he reschedules again. I'm more worried about you. I would freak out getting dizzy just once (unless on a carnival ride) let alone multiple times.

I hope you find the problem soon. Hugs.

Kenna, I'm so glad you commented on my post. I appreciate your advice. I have not seen a neurologist. The only Drs I see besides my GP are my cardiologist, my specialized cardiologist, and my endocrinologist. I don't have any of the issues you mentioned but before I had lead extractions and new pm put in they did a special cat scan that showed I had 4 nodules in my lungs and they assumed I was a heavy smoker. I've never smoked except as a teenager to try it once or twice. They told me to have another scan in a year to see if any changes in kungs. They also saw what they called a cyst in my kidney but said it was so small and not to worry. I have always had low blood pressure.

Wifey, Lanie, and Morticia, thanks guys!💜 Fritzy, I figured you have been super busy with house stuff. Hopefully the Dr won't reschedule you again. Keep us posted🩷

Diana I would request a referral for a neurological consult. Are they monitoring your sodium and potassium levels? I don’t remember what WOE you practice. I’m assuming they are within normal limits. You have had enough medical things done that would necessitate those values. There are people who, on there best day, cannot maintain normal sodium and potassium levels resulting in some of the symptom types you are experiencing. All body functions are controlled by our autonomic nervous symptom. Many people with pacemakers do not have heart disease they have a poorly functioning autonomic system that affects our brains, heart, bladder, bowel function, muscles, thought processes, blood pressures, breathing. A neuro consult might just round out your work up to make sure that something in that arena doesn’t need to be addressed

Diana I hope the dizziness leaves soon, so you can continue to work out. Hugs

Kenna, that is very interesting! I wasn't that familiar with autonomic system. I had to Google it. One interesting thing I read is that swallowing can be difficult. I have 2 issues I've been dealing with that are kind of strange issues. First sometimes when I eat I have trouble swallowing and I get the hiccups. I thought maybe it was because I was eating to quickly and not cutting my food small enough. So I corrected those but I still get it quite often. The 2nd is I itch on my right upper arm all the time and break out in a strange rash . This could be a number of things but it is bothersome. Potassium and sodium are ok I think. I have had issues with low potassium in the past but not for a long time. My woe is Cici but I do count macros for working out purposes.

Kenna meant CICO.LOL

Diana1234– periodic hiccups are no big deal but prolonged episodes or frequent recurrent episodes may signal something else going on. Hiccups are the diaphragm's response to irritation of the phrenic or vagus nerve or both. Both nerves are part of the autonomic nervous system. There are a number of pathological causes including respiratory issues, cardiac issues, the flue, alcohol use, neoplasms. Something else to speak with a neurologist about if your doc agrees that a consult might be in order.
