I must be living in some sort of alter universe. how in the world did I lose weight eating this much. I'm totaly ecstatic that what appears to be my maintenance calories if I maintain my current high activity level is around 3100 calories. I am also having some very upsetting realizations about my journey thus far..... even when I thought I was in maintenance this summer I wasn't anywhere near this high of calories even on what I would have considered a bad day. So in reality I have been in a deficit for over 10 months.... also everytime thought I was putting fat back on it was just water weight from the increase in carbs since that was the only macro ever added calories to. Unfortunately with the loose skin the extra water weight looks really bad and just makes me look really jiggly all over I really expected the scale to go up a bunch today based on how I'm looking in the mirror right now
154.2 lb Lost so far: 45.9 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Diet Calendar Entry for 15 November 2022:

Yea after that initial water gain. Just like a deficit where you’re going to bed hungry, you better go to bed past full 😂

The thermic effect of food plus the extra energy will make you move more without even thinking about it causing you to have to eat a bit more to really be in a surplus. The opposite happens when we try to lose with very low calories which is why people get frustrated and slash them even further causing even more frustration due to hunger and energy levels. Congrats on being able to eat 3400 on a bulk!

Diablo thanks man. I can only imagine how much better I would have performed and how much more muscle gain I would have had this year had I been eating more. it's very sad but atleast my eyes are finally open and I'm making adjustments to move forward from here. the crazy part is I'm actually Walling less now than I was when I was actively trying to lose weight. but i am definitely pushing harder and putting longer sessions in the gym

You have a lot of muscle and are highly active.

I am watching you! My nutritionist has been talking to me alot about upping my calorie intake in order to bulk up and continue to build my muscle mass. She continues to tell me it's about what I eat, not so much about how much I eat. Not sure if you increased protein etc but I'm interested in your progress! Maintenance can be a slippery slope!

Completely agree with Diana. It’s not the number of calories but what you eat. Playing around with the macros is key. Also you have to give it time. My trainer keeps on reminding me. You are doing great.

Diana 1234 I didn't purposely increase my protein but it has gone up a bit just from picking up more protein from more food in general. My fats have came up also from more food in general but my carbs is where I put all of the purposely added calories into.

golfmarina thanks I have been eating mostly whole foods still but am allowing myself the opportunity to occasionally be less strict like today I enjoyed a double cheese burger and fries with a group of coworkers because I ran out of chicken breasts lol. It was delicious but it is not a normal thing and will continue to be a once in awhile type occasion. I really want to keep my fats around 60 grams protein around 180 and carbs 400 to 500. Eating out or eating alot of processed foods makes that impossible. I'm doing my best to get most of my carbs from , whole wheat breads and pastas, vegetables, fruits, sweet potatoes, brown rice, etc. I don't want to gain the weight fast I'm just very much in disbelief and more so upset that I was starving myself for so long g

Hang tight, Otb. Sometimes it takes a couple of days for an increase to show up on the scale. I know you're watching it all like a hawk, but do take a moment to recognize that you did create a lot of really healthy habits while you dieted, like relying on whole foods and prioritizing nutrition. Exercise only takes you so far, as there are plenty of Fat-Fit examples out there. Waistline inches are everything. Good to hear that you're no longer hungry, though. Rooting for your success and the upcoming Mudder that you have to run for.🎉🏃🏻‍♂️
