SherryeB's Journal, 10 November 2020

Sitting in the chair with my Obusform massager with my last bit of coffee looking out at a drizzly, cloudy day. It could make me feel sad but I can also see the Dogwoods that have turned a warm shade of golden orange. 🍂🍂

Our guy we buy our firewood from is here with his wife to unload a delivery for this year. It's too warm for a fire but we'll be prepared when it gets cold 🔥❄ They told Hubby they had both had Covid...but they've recovered & are out there working.

I know it's controversial but we are planning to have Thanksgiving dinner with our extended family like we have done the past few years. We just saw pretty much all of them at my brother in law's funeral & lunch afterwards. We are also planning our annual Family Christmas party...hosted by Hubby & I this year in December. Come what may...I just can't not be with my family anymore. I do still wear a mask out in public places & use my hand sanitizer liberaly. I stopped wiping down all the groceries when I bring them in. My sister & brother in law quarantined in the beginning like most. Thankfully they had a full weekend with their granddaughters & youngest daughter just the weekend before he died. He had only seen his daughter twice all year, before 😥 When we saw our friends this past weekend she asked if we were forgoing traditional holiday plans & I told her no. She said she can't judge but they weren't doing Thanksgiving with family. Her Hubby turned 80 this year...but he still works out in his basement workout room every day. They are still choosing to not eat indoors at resteraunts & any social gatherings (limited) they distance themselves.

We've scheduled a phone call with one of our Canadian Nieces & Nephew tonight. We haven't talked in a bit, so I'm looking forward to it.

We're planning an early dinner so we can talk...chicken tenderloins on a salad.

I had some aggravating pain in my left knee that moved into my hip for a couple of days. I took some Tylenol PM last night...I haven't been sleeping well either. I still woke up during the night...too hot...but eventually fell back asleep. The pain was gone when I woke up, though.

Well, the laundry is calling my name...need to put a load in the dryer & put away the stack I carried upstairs currently on the bed.

It's a tough decision to make for most of us. Our gatherings have been very small the last few years so I don't anticipate it being a big deal but I definitely don't want to get my mom or dad sick. BTW- My laundry is calling your name, too! Help! 😉
