mbd121's Journal, 17 September 2020

I realized this week, that my biggest problem with weight loss, accountability, nutrition, and consistency, is that when something get tough - I give in. The past two weeks have been very stressful due to lay offs at work and remote learning but I thought Id jump back in with no excuses this week.

And then I came home Tuesday to my kitty who had to be rushed to the vet. My companion of 17 years passed away yesterday and Ive been struggling.

I felt sorry for myself yesterday, and did not eat well. And while I believe that its ok to give yourself a break when bad things happen, I also know that I cant let that break go on. So Im back on today.

So sorry to hear about your cat! That is a great loss. But yeah I think many of us use food for comfort and that can be an issue. Take care today... maybe some nice hot drink will help you with comfort without food. I sometimes do a hot mocca... it helps me

I'm sorry for your loss, i lost my dog two weeks ago, and it's a very painful situation, i recommend you to take a grieving time, one, two weeks to mourn your loss, it's okey, life happens, indeed you shouldn't let go to your goals for this, but also you need a time for yourself to find a way to be happy again do not make this path about food, just don't be to hard on yourself, allow yourself to heal and get back on track, you got this❤️

Everything in your post I agree with. Life isnt rigid and we have to move with it. Back on track is key to success and you didn’t cause much damage to your scale. Sorry for your companion loss.

These are challenging times and we must persist...I am fortunate to have my AA group...but we food addicts have options too with two 12 Step programs...Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous or Overeaters Anonymous...i.encourage you all to reach out for support. It really helps me when I feel globally depressed to ask myself what is my dominant thought....that usually is the source of my depression....then say ok what can I do to day to change that situation....our country is in terrible trouble now with the horrific fires on the West coast and the constant barrage of divisive media..and politicians who would divide us for personal gain....but everywhere people are still engaging in kind compassionate behavior....and eating over it never helps. Hang in there kids.💕💕💕💕

So sorry for your loss. I have a Kitty Lucy Liu that I love very much and I would be so upset if I lost her.

pets are precious companions sent from heaven for a while.... Some of those stay with our hearts. I still miss my little black mini schnauzer i lost 5 years ago... but have 2 new angels. I hope you heal today. And I hope you find strength to care for yourself properly in the meantime.

I’m sorry about your loss. That is so tough. I remember holding my black lab companion of 11 years as she was put to sleep (cancer). It took me over a decade to get over it before finally getting another pet. Big hugs to you 🤗💙
