One pound closer to 170... So glad I found FatSecret when I was looking for a calorie counting app to replace Cronometer. Irrespective of what you eat, if you're not in calorie deficit you won't lose weight. Keeping track of calories is the only way to figure out if you're overeating - before the pounds start to pile on. Thank you FS!

As a runner and mountain climber I burn plenty of carbs so the DrMcDougalldotcom no fat, whole plant based diet is ideal. It also keeps me healthy (blood pressure this morning was 102/70), and at 68 I am not taking any medication whatsoever. I did try a keto-type diet a few years ago (caveman diet) but my blood sugar, cholesterol and triglyceride levels skyrocketed. To the point where my MD wanted to put me on statins and pills to reduce blood sugar levels. All that is 100% gone since adopting the no-fat whole plant based diet. Potatoes? Of course. As long as they are baked or steamed or air-fried, without fat or oil and eaten with just a bit of salt and black pepper. Butter, cheese, or sour cream? Are you kidding me... :-)
