I did reasonably well yesterday, only going over my RDI by about 50 calories. Since we ate breakfast late I planned to skip lunch/snack altogether. I did end up eating about a third of a honeycrisp apple cause hubby was having a snack...I ate it off his plate 😁 I was in the midst of packing up decorations. I collected all the snowmen, Santas, greenery etc. from all the corners of the house but haven't touched the trees, the mantel garland or the garland on the banister. They all have lights that I'm still enjoying. I have errands to run today, but I'll start removing ornaments and packing them up in the next few days.

We joined friends & had dinner out at a local pizza/ Italian restaurant. I had a huge salad that I shared a portion of with hubby. Chickpeas, dried cranberries, cherry tomatoes, onion, feta on a bed of mixed greens. Hubby ordered a caprese blt. sandwich....I had a sliver of that & a glass of Malbec. I sipped the wine stretching it out while everyone else had a 2nd drink.

After we got home I had a rum & eggnog for "dessert". There's just a little left. Then....a second dessert of Boom Chika Pop popcorn. 😐 Only 140 calories, but I probably should have resisted that urge.

Looking back at my Dec. weekly calorie averages they ranged from just over 1500 a week to over 2000 a week. Some days I ate considerably less & some much more. I'm thinking this is what maintenance may look like. As long as every day isn't a free for all, I can have days I indulge. During the week of Christmas when my daughter was here & we were eating 3 meals a day I was thinking " This is too much food" & actually looking forward to my normal WOE.

I have decided (as of a few years ago) that I want my decor to match the seasons- so I have the tree down- I did that Christmas night. I think I told you about my ordeal of the burnt out lights and 2 more had gone out and I was so mad I said forget this damn tree and threw it on the porch. Anyhow-I like to keep my winter stuff up as long as it isn't christmas colors so I have snowflakes and snowmen and winter trees from hobby lobby that I love that are snow flocked but tabletop size. They are a favorite for me. And last comment- sorry this is so long- I'm not usually a popcorn eater but our pharmacy had delivered peppermint bark popcorn for Christmas as a little gift. I should have never tasted it. It has been at work for 2 weeks and I decided I would sample it. Why- I don't know. 2 giant handfuls later I was tearing myself away and trying to figure out how to log it. It was SO much better than I thought it would be. Never had it or heard of it before. Have a good day! Nice loss!

You're doing so good! Glad to hear you are still enjoying some of your Christmas decorations. I have only the tree and garland to take down. Like you, I am still enjoying the Christmas tree. 🎄

You're the second person today mentioning eggnog to finish off... I've never had any last beyond New Years. You folks and your moderation... inspiring!

DP, my popcorn is Sweet & Salty Kettle corn. We buy it in huge bags at Costco. The nice thing is 2 cups is 140 calories & that's just enough to satisfy me. 😊 I tried leaving some of the less Christmasy decor up last year. But, then I had to get in the attic again to pack it in the boxes. Some stuff never did make it back to the attic. My favorites are the lights to cheer up gloomy days. One year I did leave a small tree up in our sunroom for awhile.

Bella, I held off buying eggnog this year til my daughter arrived so she could help me drink it. When we went to my sisters' I meant to bring it so we could finish it off before she left for home but I forgot it. So I get the pleasure of drinking the rest. 😐 I tried to do lower cal festive drinks during the holidays, but I do love that eggnog!
