Day 3 of a planned 3 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting

👍🏾 Yesterday I hit these macros

fat: 53g protein: 33g carbs: 9g

My body breaks down these macros into usable energy. The excess gets stored as fat. My goal is to take in as few grams of dietary macros as possible and expend as much energy as possible.

I don’t care about the calories because the calories are simply a calculation of the macros (Carbohydrates provide 4 calories per gram, protein provides 4 calories per gram, and fat provides 9 calories per gram - https://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/how-many-calories-are-one-gram-fat-carbohydrate-or-protein).

After a year of tracking my macros and weight loss and gain I know that I will lose weight when I have multiple days of less than 60g of protein and less than 20g of carbs. If I run or lift weights I can get even better results.

Problem is I am now heading into a 4 day vacation weekend and won’t be able to hit those macros…

Good job on another fast with no solid foods! I was thinking of doing 48-72 hours starting Friday, but have a watermelon I need to finish. It's almost not a solid food!

What happens when you have excessive amounts of Fat Macros?

@srossca - Too much fat and you end up in the bathroom for an hour Haha!

@Fritzy 22 - Thanks! Today is a good example where the 'no solid food' fasts helps me. Tomorrow is a vacation day, so it's 'like' a Friday' and I normally eat on Fridays, and when I do I usually binge on 200g+ carbs. So my brain wants to hit the vending machine at work and start eating potato chips and Cheetos. However, I am committed to 'no solid food' for the rest of the day and I simply cannot consume more than 40 carbs by only consuming my normal liquids (A McDonald's milkshake would still allow me to hit 200g+ carbs). So today will be a 'good day' diet-wise.

@srossca - If my carbs AND protein are low, I simply cannot consume more than 1200 calories of fats without getting sick. It may be different for others.

Finding an approximation of what macros work best for us as individuals is key to easy weight control. Well, at least on top of the fundamental sleep and nutritional satisfaction. Try to observe what happen with me the hours after a meal. Learning mode.

I didn’t realize how low you were going on protein. Do you stay under 60g when you lift heavy?

@crashtestdawnie - When I lift heavy the only thing that helps is carbs and leucine :)
