Have you tried going down to under 5 carbs?? I don't know if you have anything you may not log like coffee (do have carbs) but with no cheese just meat, fat and butter it would seem you could. You should not have to starve to lose weight and it is frustrating when foods sabotage you. You have been diligent for months and months. I would avoid the mtc oil too until you are sure it does not negatively effect your progress. you were doing pretty good those two drops

I would take 'staving myself' off the table :) However, I cannot lose any weight if I have more than 1,000 calories. Keep in mind I usually run 5 miles a day and do at least 10,000 steps a day. So, I run a 'calorie deficit' practically every day. Those charts indicating how many calories I 'should' be able to eat simply-don't-apply-to-me. With that said, I am not starving. I have no will power for pain. If I feel ANY hunger I cave and grab a bag of Cheetos :) I am a guy who has been obese ALL my adult life.

Give your body a good mix of food & go workout, hard. Remember it is 80/20, 80% food intake & 20% exercise. Your body loves to store the food, as long as you don’t use it!!

Adef wouldn't it be interesting if it was the 20 carbs that did it instead of the calories. I think some people are just very resistant and the carbs even relatively safe ones are what sabotage us. I know I did better diet wise when I stuck to my lower carb level with less treats and carb foods.

Sroscca I have lupus. I walk 1-2 miles a day. 2 weeks ago I decided to jog 1/2 mile, took me out for 2 weeks, thanks though, I wish I could.

Adef, damn, that sucks only 1000 for you, sorry. Baskington, last week I had cheese and wasn't zero carbs, before I lost a few pounds eating I think more calories but zero carbs .. Well, this week I'll be zero carb. I really thought my maintenance was 1500 at least it was a few months ago. Just shows ya calories aren't gold standard for squat. I did strict carnivore 3 weeks, didn't lose much if any but I felt better that was zero carb. Who knows.

I also swam and so my elliptical.

Have you tried Yoga or Aqua classes? They burn the calories, but gentle on the joints.

I swim, but it's not joints with lupus it's physical exertion that wipes you out for days.

I think your 1400 to 1500 is realistic at zero carbs. I will be testing how much more calories I can add once I take more time to heal my damage. I did a lot when I underrate for so long. I did so much better before I added all that good stuff to my diet. I tend to be in the 1500 average now. soon I will stop counting and just eat. Very limited exercise before and my symptoms seem to clear more when I do moderate instead of excessive exercise. I started that up today and my eyes cleared after one series. I think your walks are a good start. then work up to short fast sprints on your machine. no more then 5 to 10 minutes. It is more productive to be fast for 2 -5 minute bursts a couple times on work out days, then 1 20 - 30 minute session of constant slow work on the machine.

This might sound completely ludicrous but have you ever tried receiving massage? The body tends to want to store more when it’s stressed. Hell stress can wreck all kinds of havoc on your body especially with lupus. Not saying that your overly stressed but with lupus sometimes it’s just normal everyday shit that exerts too much energy. Massage helps your body handle stress better, giving it a break might help it handle the month more productively

Yup baskington HIIT. if I could only have a good day. Lately not good. I slept most of yesterday because I knew I was sleep deprived. I still woke up so tired today. Uhh, I walked the dog, and my head is just not right, and I was super hungry. I took my blood sugar, 112 . It was the almond flour. I'm throwing it out. My morning glucose has been 90s. Which is great. Enjoy your steak.

Tempest22 excellent idea getting a massage! Yup, I've got stress ✌ but I don't have money for that.

I will and definitely don't overdo. a couple times a week when you feel up to it until you build up to more. it took me weeks to rebuild my muscles when I first started. I could barely do 10 slow minutes on my lower level of my bike. \Just walking that much is a big deal when you have not had much of any exercise before.

Yep, I've found that perio-menopause really did a number on me and it is harder for us ladies over a certain age to loose weight. I find that if I lay off the purines, meat, total fat, and salt plus exercise after supper, I can loose weight. My co-worker is opposite me. She went on a low-carb and lost lots. She avoided carbs and sugar.

Sorry to hear a bit of what you're going through - especially considering the lupus. I hope you find a mix of activity (exercise) and intake (calories) that can help keep you on the journey!

Most places have a new client introduction rate including massage envy. I think their intro rate is like $55 for the hour. Mine is $65 for 90 mins. Maybe Check around your area and just spa hop for those intro rates

Have an autoimmune disease as well - I know how it can totally wipe you out - it drives me nuts. You only gained a little and I know you can get back on track soon because you put all the work in. Stay healthy as you can!
