I'm starting my biohacking experiments. today I tested my morning blood sugar. 106. them got on elliptical 30 minutes to bring it down without my pancreas pumping insulin. here's my theory, get my morning BS down, keep the fat storing hormone insulin from being released. I'm going to fast today. I ate enough yesterday for today! maybe I'll have a reasonable dinner. I'm curious if when I don't feel great if I have low blood sugar. so my avocados are gone, yeah. back to meat. 🍗 keto/carnivore on.

Keep at it! "Your body - Your Solution". When I 'don't feel great' it is low electrolytes. The only thing high blood sugar does for me is make me hungry :) Low (70-80) blood sugar is required for me to burn any fat.

Adefwebserver, yup, slowly but surely, fine tuningv me buddy.. both guys from the Ketohacking MD podcast experienced low blood sugar on high fat weeks and high protein weeks.. One would have their bullet coffee or what ever for breakfast and 6 hours later be crashing at 50 glucose. They were very surprised. , and after their podcast, they got tons of email that others experience the same thing. I was very surprised. I defiantly get my electrolites balanced but now when someone feels like crap, I think they really should check blood sugar if they think they are good on electrolites.

@jenjabba - I have definitely had that 'crashing feeling' when my blood sugar dropped during the day (remember I used to measure my blood sugar throughout the day), but I feel it was my metabolism going into 'protective mode' because I always felt 'cold' during those periods. All I could do was exercise (if convenient), or wait it out. What I was not willing to do was 'correct it' by trying to raise my blood sugar with carbs :) But, that's just me...

Interesting info! Thinking about it, in nature there is not much naturally-occurring food that is pure fat. Oils we consume are rendered, as is lard and butter. Nuts are fatty, but contain fiber, carb, and protein. Same with avocado. Now I think I understand why I felt terrible in a "fat fast." It's unnatural, I couldn't make energy from it and maybe my blood sugar crashed. But in the other hand, maybe the folks with blood sugar crashes had other existing problems (insulin resistance) because people routinely fast without encountering this issue.

Adef, exactly, in the podcast summary, the type one diabetic Doc they were talking about said it probably was from the insulin sensitivity of that person and their pancreas was possibly just over shooting the insulin, causing the crash. She suggested no carbs to fix, but a small small amount of protein to trick the body into fixing , regulate itself. This guy got down to the 40s which is just bad. Good into!

Trackin , it's all interesting and everyone seems to be so very different!

@jenjabba - Yikes 40s! Ok even I would 'take something' if I got THAT low (a huge hit of protein powder would be my first choice). The lowest I ever hit was 68.

I spent some time checking my glucose. I noticed right away that the lower my bs, the more I felt dizzy/ shaky and cold. Low 70s. That’s when my fat was at or near 80% for multiple meals/ days. My blood ketones were also well over 3.5, near 5.

@CrashtestDawnie - This happened to me only when I was doing a true 'water fast'. I would get cold, sleepy, lethargic. Now, exercise was always the best solution, but, that is not always practical. Now that I consume neatly 100 grams of protein, this NEVER happens to me now. I still think the electrolytes are a big factor, but if you ok with the electrolytes I now think that it must be the protein powder that is making the difference for me.
