jengetfit123's Journal, 27 April 2018

Today i am feeling impatient. but I know that a) changing myself from the inside out is a process that takes time, and b) i will need the time for my body and mind to adjust. Still i am a creature who wants instant gratification.

I found my notes from when i first got on the elliptical in January (9 years after i purchased it, lol). I could only do a minute or so at a time, and i would rest so much the thing turned off and i had to track on paper. The first time it took me an hour and a half to rack up 20 minutes. Now i can get on and do 30 minutes straight on a very challenging program!

I love the idea that MillaLite posted about doing things badly instead of not at all. In the past i have never stuck with any exercise (except walking, which is great exercise) because i couldn't do it perfectly right away. Now i am just doing the best i can. Several youtubers said there is no perfect exercise and no wrong exercise, so just do what you like and keep at it! I found that idea very liberating.

I don't feel like working out, but i am going to! Then meeting my friend for lunch. The place we are going serves amazing salads. Yum.

I am really impressed with your outlook about exercise and the fact that you can now do 30 minutes on that elliptical! And good job working out even when you don't want to. I did that yesterday after work. I was so tired but I felt better after I walked 30 min. Keep on trying - know that you are not alone in your daily struggles.

+! Milla's comment, or to put it this way: the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best is the wrong thing, the worst thing you can do is nothing!. Hang in there!

I SO agree! When I started I couldn’t walk a block without stopping to rest and sit down. 🤦🏻‍♀️Recumbent exercise bikes got me going! 30 minutes on the minimum was about all I could manage! 🙇🏻‍♀️Now I do multiple miles walking and have exercise bikes set much further up (not all the way, the arthritis in my knees won’t take it! LOL) ! 🙋🏻

slow progress is better then no progress even if years follow, how I can relate to your post. It has taken myself a few years to get my walking down. I certainly agree there is no wrong or right why to exercise, what matters is if it helps. Thanks for posting. wish you a great day.

I think all of you who got up and MOVED this week deserve kudos!! LOL 👏👏👏 You may not have heard but exercise has mega health benefits for staving of dementia, heart disease, and the list is probably as long as your arm ... lol there is a reason the doctors are always pushing it! They keep finding more and more benefits. It’s not the best for weight loss, that’s actually diet. But for toning up and feeling better? Being able to do more? LOL Yeah, we need to get off the couch. But hey. We now have TV on our phones! LOL 😂 🤦🏻‍♀️ Irma Francine 👵🏻thought it was funny! LOL 🙋🏻
