I'm of the belief that many people don't need to be as strict as Atkins. (People with certain medical conditions are the exception.) I think you will do well and it sounds like something you can do for a lifetime. Good luck!

On a recent trip to China I noticed that the hotels and restaurants have the same choices for breakfast that we have for lunch and dinner like meat, veggies and of course noodles. They also do not get a full plate of food put in front of them, they help themselves with chopsticks to dishes placed in the centre of large round tables on a lazy Susan that spins around continuously. After eating this style for a couple of weeks I found eating a "western style " plate with huge burger, fries that I was so uncomfortably full. I loved the way they eat but once back home I reverted back to our way.
