izzypup68's Journal, 06 January 2016

I have been doing pretty well this week. It is reassuring that the habits that I worked so hard to develop over the past year are coming back to me after my holiday fling. I am still tempted and think about eating probably more than I should, but I am winning more than I am giving in. Also, I am choosing healthier foods for the most part. Definitely still a work in progress...

Hi! Good for you! As someone who thinks about food ALL THE TIME (whether i am dieting or not) one thing that has helped me is to peruse pretty recipe websites that 'match' my diet -so i can get excited about cooking yummy looking things -that are still healthy. Pretty food porn comes in all types on the web, and it means i can feed my cooking/food obsession, without overfeeding me. There are only so many habits i can break at a time, ya know?

I feel exactly the same way. Thanks for reminding me that I have already succeeded because of changing my lifestyle enough to come back from a slight gain with relative ease. I think that is the key to long term success. We rock!

Welcome back Izzy! Glad you are back on track. It's funny the longer you eat healthy those "flings" tend to stay within your plan. Those to die for unhealthy foods don't even taste good any longer or give you a stomach ache.

120wg--I watch the food channel when I am on the cardio machines at the gym. My workout buddy thinks I am masochistic, but it motivates me. wholefoodnut--I haven't reached that stage of evolution yet. Everything still tastes too good to me! :)

"Winning more than giving in" -- no doubt that chasm/ratio will continue to increase as you get back to it!
