Spring has definitely sprung in the desert southwest. Wildflowers are popping up everywhere. I've been enjoying extra long walks while searching for new ones. Here are some of the ones I've found.

Photo Captions:

1) I walked more than 9 miles so far today! I'm probably done until tomorrow.

2) Beavertail Cactus (Opuntia basilaris)

3) Desert Sunflower (Geraea canescens)

4) Brittlebush (Encelia farinosa)

5) Yellow Cups (Chylismia brevipes)

6) Ghost Flower (Mohavea confertiflora)

7) Broad-leaved Gilia (Aliciella latifolia)

8) Notch-leaved Phacelia (Phacelia crenulata)

9) Arizona Lupine (Lupinus arizonicus)

OMG!!! It's always been amazing how such beauty could live/survive in such an arid area. I lived in AZ from 1993-2009 & I couldn't wait to get back to CA. All in all, it was beautifully awesome, the time I spent out there in the forest, on 6 acres. My allergist told me I had to move back to where I was born bc the ocean-breeze(s) washes the allergens into the valley. So, I came back and I still have allergies, but not as much as I did in AZ. But, 9 miles??? How long did that take you. And then you were also taking pix? I can't get over how lovely those beauties are. Thanks for the eye-glory. God bless you and stay safe out there. :)

The desert has its own unique beauty in springtime... gorgeous photos! Might have to convince one of my kids to drive out near the Superstitions with me, should be a good year for lots of poppies and cactus blossoms there

Slow Meta, I did that walk in two sessions. I did a 40-minute walk in the morning, and then after lunch I walked for 2 hours and 11 minutes. I was lazy after that.
