Texasgranny6's Journal, 10 January 2021

Forgot to check blood sugar until after I ate breakfast; it was 181. Don't remember what weight was -- was too busy getting lunch fixed before I went to church. It was something 165.X! I really liked the keto chicken casserole, though I added too much salt, and the no bake cheesecake -- I've never made cheesecake before. Not attempting to be accurate with macros today -- some food I ate was cooked by others and I can only guess at its carb level. Glucose down to 92 at 7:26 pm so I guess I didn't over-do my eating today. I will have to eat a little before bedtime, but fortunately I'm not even hungry this evening. We had a little flurry of snow this afternoon, maybe for an hour, but none of it stayed. Snow is a big event here, maybe once or twice during the winter. Mostly we get ice that freezes on the trees and power lines and glitters like fairyland -- none of that yet this year.

Oh Texas, you did well. 👍 I'm in southern NM and we haven't had any snow whatsoever. 🙁 Your description of your winter ice does sound pretty.

Its hard to believe that somewhere south of us they got 10 inches of snow Sunday! One year we had a real snow, several inches, and still snowing as I crept carefully home from work -- took me an extra 30 minutes to get home. Found my husband was heading to son's house because grandson had a rash he wanted to look at (hubby's a nurse), so of course I went with him for the 35 mile trip. Rash was nothing to be alarmed about, but coming back home there was a long stretch of road with absolutely no tracks. We had to guess where the road was. The trees were loaded and branches bowed down with snow. It was beautiful, a magical scene. But scary, not being able to tell where the road really was. Glad it was him driving and not me! That was a once in a life time type of snow in north Texas. I think that was the year it also snowed in Florida.
