lonniehuffman's Journal, 10 September 2020

I'm recording this entry from Clarkston, Washington. We're just across the stateline from Lewiston, Idaho. The Snake River also separate the two towns named after Lewis and Clark of the famous expedition. The forest fires in the area have made the sky hazy, but I don't smell smoke, so it's not too bad, so still went on my walks.

Photo Description:

1) The Snake River as viewed from the boat ramp at the Chief Timothy Park where we're camping.

2) This is the small boat dock near our campsite, for boaters to tie off at the campground.

3) This is the road through the Chief Timothy Park, where we're camping. This is also the road I used as my walking path.

4) The landscape is bleak along some areas along the Snake River. The park is located on Silcott Island, which is an island in the middle of the Snake River.

5) I don't know if there's enough resolution in this photo, but I hope you can see the ancient layers carved in the landscape by the river.

6) The park has lots of large shade trees.
They may or may not be natural to the area, but they shade me nicely on my walks.

7) As I took a sunset walk the surrounding mountains turned pink as the sun was setting.

8) This is my first ever picture of a Washington sunset.

Oh I just love these pictures!!! The fantastic color and the glassy water the bright green of the trees contrasted with the starkly dry hills. It is just perfect. Thank you for sharing again. I always think you have posted my favorites... And then you post more "favorites!"

All beautiful, but the last one is my favourite. I like the way the trees frame the hill with the sun setting behind it. The pink hills picture is a close second.
