Left the house at 8 AM in search of food. The shelves have been bare here in our little town. All the towns nearby are empty also. We had about a weeks worth left, mainly carbs. Better than starving. I scored some food today thankfully. 2 family packs of boneless pork chops 1 loaf bread 1 box crackers 1 lettuce head 1 fresh asparagus 4 pack tomatoes 4 bags of frozen veggies 6 cans of veggies mayo cookies cake pasta 2 packs of sliced ham eggs milk 2 24 packs of water frozen fruit peanut butter 3 lb bag onions This was a good find, maybe not the best foods, but like stated better than starving. With what we already had we can eat 2-3 weeks. I didn't want to hoard as I know others are looking for food also. I bought what we needed to get buy and nothing more. I let all elders in front of me in the line because I know they were nervous about being out, it was obvious. I have bronchitis, I used too many cleaning products the other day and it burned my throat and lungs. I don't want to go to the doctor unless its a have to situation. A little hard at breathing, but it didn't start until I used some new cleaner. Every time I get around cleaner now I almost lose my breath. Been like this 3 days, if I get worse I will seek medical attention. It doesn't seem to be getting worse. Happy Saint Patrick's Day everyone! Stay safe, and God bless!

The grocery stores will be restocking with food quickly, especially now that restaurants and large venues are closing. Stay well! Thins will be back to normal in a month.

Gz yes it will, hopefully people have gotten the hoarding out of their systems. I don't see the point in hoarding the things they are. I understand being prepared and having enough for a few weeks but others have to eat, clean, and wipe also. Such greed in this world. I could have gotten way more then I did, but I didn't want to take more than we needed, I would feel like I took food from someone who needed it.

I was at Costco today, they aren't fully stocked but they weren't crazy busy either.

What bothers me the most are people who buy too much and then they try to sell it for a profit. That is so cruel! Take care of yourself! Maybe you can find some products that don't affect you or are not as strong. I am more careful now because I am also affected by products.

I received a grocery delivery today, there were a few minor substitutions, a couple of unavailable items, but overall everything I needed arrived. 🌈

Shirfleur I wish we had grocery delivery but we don't. The nearest store that does is 50 miles, but they don't deliver to my area. So I have no choice to go out for necessities when needed.

Angel, can you order for pick-up? That way you don't have to roam the aisles with other shoppers

gz Nope they won't do that either. We just have one grocery store in my town, and it's small. If I drive to the bigger areas to shop I'll run into even more people.

You did good. This is just one of those situations where you do the best with what you have available. Part of the reason that learning portion control is so critical to weight loss and maintenance. You can’t always control food availability but you can control how much of it you eat. These are also time when (if you are really serious about your weight control journey) you eat the things that have the most nutritional value and just leave the Oreos on the shelf.

Gz9gig— I’m not sure where you live but a month is being just a little too optimistic.

Kenna, 18 months is far beyond pessimistic.

Kenna...the cake and cookies was for my husband. I can't deny him things he wants just because I'm on a weight loss journey. It's not fair to him. My husband's weight is fine. 165 pounds.
