Good morning. Simmons is my “pet”. He is NR (non-releasable). Someone kept him without calling a rehabber. They fed him an improper diet as a baby so he ended up with MBD (metabolic bone disorder). When his deformities worsened they surrendered him to SOS. He is unable to survive in the wild. I have another injured opossum named Shelby. The local news interviewed me about my opossum rescue/rehab efforts. I borrowed Simmons from the rescue group for educational purposes and fell head over heels for this little guy. He never went back to SOS -Southern Opossum Sanctuary.
