Kim4dogNite's Journal, 15 April 2019

I am so disgusted in myself. It has been really rough. My FIL passed away on Thursday morning. I put my MIL in a home because her Alzheimer's has become too much for me, especially with the toileting. Hubby still can't drive from Knee Replacement Surgery. And I let myself go to crap again. Eating anything and everything and drinking plenty of wine.
I have no one to blame but myself. I am tired. We will be listing the in laws house, leaving all of the clean up to me. I lost my job of taking care of the inlaws. It was a 7 day a week thing for me, sometimes twice a day. I lost a man that drove me nuts but that I loved. He was my Dad. I have no relationship with my dna father.
I am lost and heartbroken and need to remember to take care of me.
Not looking for pity, just needed to vent.

I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like life has been kicking you in the butt plenty so you don't need kick your own. You've done nothing wrong, you just had a shift in your priorities. This is the fist step to shift them back to regain control and start focusing on taking care of you for the first time in a long time.

No pity, just sorry for your loss and encouragement to be gentle with yourself. You'll be back at it soon.

Hugs to you. That really is a super stressful amount of things that has happened/will be happening in a small amount of time. Give yourself a break and just take small steps towards getting back on track. Take some time and regroup, you have a lot going on.

I know exactly how you feel! I am guilty of doing the same exact thing when I'm upset! The important thing we need to remember that is not taking care of ourselves is only going to make us feel worse! Taking good care of yourself during these hard times will help you feel better mentally and physically! Try to find other ways to find enjoyment or to release stress. Take a nightly walk (with your dog if you have one!), buy yourself some nice fancy bubble bath and schedule a nice long soak, buy yourself a fancy healthy meal (steak? Strawberries?)...just find healthier alternatives to bring happiness. Acknowledge that it's ok to be upset and allow yourself to be present and feel the pain and take good care of yourself and show yourself some love <3
