Toni Bourlon's Journal, 10 April 2019

So I'm once again down 1/2 lb to 152, that's better I guess. But today I'm in some pain. Back in March I made an unwise decision to TRY and run a half marathon, but on the 17th I put in about 9 miles & ended up with some lower back pain (which I still have). On the 23rd I switched to the 5K & ran that, didn't feel too bad, but the next morning I could barely move. I didn't run for the next 2 weeks, but I'm still supposed to run with the Marathon Relay Team on Apr 28th. So I started running again last week, just a little. Run/walk, run/walk, that sort of thing. Also shelled out $150 for some new running shoes. Well, things were okay, pain was starting to get a little better, so last night I ran 2 miles straight - what should have been an easy run. So this morning I now feel like my right leg is burned just above the knee, in the vastus medialis region. WTF??? THIS is new! I mean like the fabric of my pants laying across that region is painful. Lower back - well, it's about the same so I don't know what's causing this new problem. I've put off calling the Dr. because I'll feel achy when I first get up, but then after an hour or so things loosen up. But this new burning pain isn't going away, so guess I'll try to make an appt. Wish me luck!

Ouch! The sooner you deal with it the better, have you tried any stretching that opens up the pelvis (and an interm solution).

Please take care of your knees! ❤️ My best friends mom had always been thin and healthy as a horse, started running 5k’s a couple of years ago. Ended up with knee problems, had double knee replacement and nearly died from an infection. Not worth it.

That sounds odd. The burn thing. Like a heat rash? Glad you are seeing the doctor. And maybe consider a running break till back gets 100%???
