batman110816's Journal, 03 March 2019

Oh guys.... it has been minute. I've been on here off and on checking up on y'all and seeing all the good (and "bad") y'all put. I've liked recipes, post y'all have made and stuff, but I myself have fallen behind. I know I haven't logged my food Inna minute, but I realized when I went back and looked that I haven't since Feb 1st.... like woah...

I haven't weighed myself inna minute but I still hadn't gained anything about a week ago. But in this week since the last time I weighted myself, I have crashed. I ordered a Dr. pepper today, and had a baja blast a few days ago. I was so proud of myself for not drinking soda and then I gave in. I have just missed it. I feel like I'm going to have to let myself have one every couple of weeks or I'm going to just give up in all. Last month, I had a tight budget with grocery shopping so I didn't get as much healthy stuff as I wanted for snacks and lunches. This month will be better, so I am going to try to start a new round of this.

Also, I would love y'alls feed back on my Entries, it really means a lot. I know I haven't been with y'all long, but I love the inspiration I get from y'alls post of food, emotions, progress and everything!!! This has been one of my best life decisions; being a part of this community!!

Hiding out in the Bat Cave, huh? It's okay. I had a really bad week (or two) recently, and I'm back in full swing now. You can be, too. I didn't have any Diet Coke for the whole month of January, and then decided to have "just one," which ended up being every day, all day long, for the whole month of February! Now, I haven't had any in March, so I can say I have gone more than HALF of this year without any diet coke! If I make it through March, I'll be able to say I've been through 2/3 of THIS year without any soda. Each month I am able to abstain, the percentage (or fraction, as it may be) goes higher. Last night, a dear friend "surprised me" with a Diet Coke Strawberry Guava! Fortunately, I hadn't yet drunk my 64 ounces of water, so I said I couldn't have it until after that! That water "excuse" should last me for quite some time, as it is a BIG challenge for me to get it all in - but I'm doing it! Hang in there, batman! You've got this!

Thanks, Batman. MY PLEASURE supporting you! I love having fun with your name, too! Tell Alfred I'll give him a ring if I can think of villains I need slain in my defense!

@Batman110816, I so agree: FS membership is helpful to me, too. The important thing, when you've gone off track, is to dust yourself off and get back to business. FS makes that easy, especially the food diary and journaling. I use the food diary to plan my meals a day ahead, and journaling helps me keep my eye on the ball. Best wishes on your continued efforts to be healthy!

I agree with the food budget. It can really suck trying to eat healthier when you just don't have the money in the bank for it. You fall back on the cheaper, crappier food because you can afford it and it fills you up. Soda has been a hard loss for me too and once I can work it back in, I will. I just hope this time that I can stick to only the sodas that I make for myself because otherwise I will end up back to being a complete addict again. At my worst I was drinking over a 2L a day. I don't want to go back there!! I will try to keep my eye out! :)

Try out crystal light. It helped me kick my addiction to 7up! Sometimes I use the liquid kind and squirt it into club soda
