Happy Cinco de Mayo and Happy Birthday to my son Joshua and Cathy's daughter, Ashley!!!

The good news is ... it did not snow last night like the weather folks forecast!! Also, I did not get a migraine. AND ... I did not eat a bunch of silly snacks just because I was tired!! I am fairly certain you all are responsible ... with all the good energy you've been sending me via cyberspace!!! Thank you!!!

Today is another busy day. Fortunately I can travel to my first appointment from home this morning which gives me a tad more time to talk to you!! So, appointment this morning (new family), staff meeting (always so much fun!!), appointment this afternoon (another new family). New families always means extra paperwork. A plan to write, an evaluation to complete, deadlines to meet, a report to write, data to enter into our new dreaded database system that everyone detests!! Job security I suppose ... so I am not actually complaining ... in case you were wondering!! LOL!!

Fatsecret is now pestering me to weigh in!! I must ignore it for a couple more days. I can't believe is has been 7 days. It still feels strange but since I am still on track I'm okay with it for now. It is giving me some time to reflect on how I feel, how my clothes fit, how I look rather than just what the darn number on the scale says.

Last night I read about Cindyshine's not so pleasant encounter with a co-worker. She commented on her thoughts about being sensitive and her irritation with people making something out of nothing ... which I translated to not being able to 'take the high road' and be pleasant even if you don't really like someone else or agree with them. I so relate. I am, have been, and will most likely always be a sensitive soul. I don't want to upset anyone. I do not intentionally hurt people even if I do not particularly care for them. I talk 'big' but in actuality I rarely confront. It is so true, we won't "get along" with everyone. Not "everyone" will like us. It happens face-to-face and it happens online. For all of us who relate to Cindyshine's experience I remind us all that "it's okay" ... "this too shall pass" ... we can be upset for a little bit but then we CAN let it go and let them deal with their stuff and not take it on as our own.

I hope that paragraph above was okay. It has just been on my mind. It is really a reminder to myself!!

So ... I am grateful today for ...

1. continually learning and growing
2. my son
3. having some time when 'cancer' has not been the center of everything we do
4. being 'back on track' ... which reminds me once again that this is a process ... I won't EVER be "done" (darn it!!!)
5. good food, good drink, good friends, and good times!!!

I almost forgot to tell you about our bear encounter last night!! I was turning off the internet connection right before we were heading out to take the dog out to do his business for the last time yesterday evening. I glanced out the upstairs window to see a mama bear and three cubs grazing outside of our house!!! It was quite a site!! I don't think I've ever seen three cubs together before. They were all about the same size so must have been born at the same time. Sometimes cubs stay with the mother for more than a year. We watched for a while then had to scurry them off so we could take Blue out to do his thing!!! This is why my hubby says ... "do not go for a walk with Blue without carrying" ... I guess I better start listening!!! We do indeed live out in the wild!!

Have a wonderful day my friends. Amy ... so glad you have joined the 'back on track' club ... let's hope there are no tempting treats in the break room today for us!!! Next Number ... I'll have to search for those Vitatops!! Info ... if you buy yourself some bagel thins and toast them ... toast them lightly ... it doesn't take much!!! Anne ... hang in there ... you'll be feeling like your svelte self in no time at all!!!

Bye for now!!!

Vitatops and Bagel Thins, those are my new go to foods. I love them. I have seen a bear in the wild once, in my life, while going to campsite, it was behind a pizza parlor! I guess the Dumpster wasn't well maintained, and it lured the bears there. It was frightening. I love animals, but am a HUGE scaredy cat, and pretty am afraid of wildlife!

Happy Mothers Day to You too and Happy Birtday to your son. You are doing great with not weighing in especially when that darn thing keeps telling you to. lol Glad you don't have a migrane. Like your comments about people and relationships. You are so right. It is a good reminder for all of us. Quite the encounter with the bear. I think I would have been afraid. Glad you and Blue are alright. Enjoy your day today.

Well happy birthday to your son - great day to have as your birthday! So cool seeing a bear outside, but I don't know how happy I'd be about seeing it right outside my home!!! Have a great day buddy!!!!

Happy Birthday to your son moose! I'm certainly glad that your migraine is gone, I don't get those but have had some really bad ones in my time and almost nothing is worse, you must have done something right. ;-) Since I weigh-in every day I've never seen that new(?) warning sign that Fatsecret seems to be putting up, but there are a lot of comments/complaints about it. I say good job Fatsecret! :-) Dealing with unpleasantness and ignorance is just another part of everyday life, I'm sure that Cindy will manage. BTW: The sighting of the bears might be a positive sign of sorts, I've never seen a bear outside of the zoo. :-)

Happy birthday to you son! I'm glad your migraine is gone and you didn't snack last night. I'm absolutely jealous of your bears... was it black bear or grizzli? be careful though, mama bear can be dangerous. have a great day!

wow, bears! we have black bears around here, but I think one was spotted in the next town over last year and that was it.

Anne ... they were black bears. We do have grizzlies that are in our area but thankfully have not seen one at our home yet. My hubby made a sound to scare them off and the mama bear stood up on her hind legs!! The cubs did too ... we are very careful. We were up on the back porch so no danger. However, when I walked Blue this morning I did carry the 38!!! Just in case I needed to scare some wild critters off!! We see moose, bear, deer, mountain lions, elk, and a variety of other smaller critters!!

You live in Paradise Moose! I wish there were mountain lions here. But they are further in the Rockies, and I can't really complain, at least my chickens can run free everyday.

Exactly Anne. I don't think mountain lions and chickens socialize well. LOL!! It really is beautiful here ... I love it!! And yes, Cathy ... one pistol packing moose mama here!! LOL!
