HCB's Journal, 10 July 2012

Rough day today! My schedule got screwed up and I couldn't work out in the morning as usual - I was crabby, let me tell you!

Then, after rushing to work, my first patient "No Showed" - ugh! Then, I was done by 7pm, went to Trader Joe's, and got home after 8pm.

BUT, I still did an exercise DVD with...taaa daaa...Jillian Michaels! It is a "beginner" circuit trainer so NO burpees or mountain climbers! (Thank goodness!) It has 90 minutes - 45 minutes front muscle groups and 45 minutes back muscle groups. I did all fronts tonight, and sweat wonderfully - much less crabby now - but it is now after 10pm and much too late to eat dinner!

I will have my usual fruit and cereal, and go to bed! Dammit!

Awesome on the workout! Please tell me you aren't done recording dinner though... I am worried you might not be getting enough calories. Saying this only with respect...hope I don't offend. What is your daily calorie target?

I usually do well with calories because if it is consistently too low, I will not lose! Today was just a bust and I didn't get everything in as usual. My RDI is 1200 and I usually get 90% and above every day. I eat plenty of protein...but today it just got too late to eat everything! It is two hours later where I live compared to you on the West Coast..........

Well, dammit, that was great. HAHAHA! I went to bed a couple times last week without eating dinner because I had so many different snacks after my lunch and I wasn't hungry. Sometimes it works like that and I totally believe that you have to listen to your body. I've had times where I'm getting ready for bed and have serious hunger pains, even though I've eaten all my regular meals AND snacks, so I eat a spoon of almond butter and a small handful of nuts....protein and healthy fat before bed is much better than carbs. But anyway....great job on getting the workout in. And you said you felt better after doing it...YAY!!

Congrats on doing Jillian Michaels! I am SKEERED of her at this point. And congratulations for not eating a huge amount late and just having a snack and going to bed.

OK - glad to hear. 1,200 sounds good and it's generally the recommended low, which is why I was worried about you. (-: But mostly I want you to be successful and healthy, and there are days that I don't feel like eating more even though I'm not at my RDI, so I can relate. Have a wonderful day!!

Sorry to hear you had a rough day, but it sounds like you ended up feeling a lot better at the end. That's wonderful that the exercise made your day end better. I know you were glad there were no burpees or mountain climbers ;) I did them yesterday for you, because that is what my trainer had on the agenda for my workout LOL.
