bonnie senn's Journal, 12 March 2018

When I started this diet change 3 weeks ago I started charting my steps. I thought I was pretty active. I realized real quick I never got in 10000 step. Not even 5000 most days. I started walking on purpose today at the park. Keeping up with it on map my walk. My first goal is just to get 10000 steps. That is what I understand I need to not be considered sedentary. That just seems lazy to be sedentary.

I find I don't get many steps when I spend a day in the kitchen cleaning and cooking but I do burn calories because I am working and moving around. I have a small kitchen and can reach everything with few steps. I thought I was walking more before I started tracking steps but you will slowly ramp up and walking is a great stress reducer! Enjoy!

I use to get way over 1000 steps in a day, every day of the week, now that I retired I'm up and moving but not constantly walking. Waiting for the spring to come so I can get out more and get back to 5 miles a day.

I started similar too. Just paying attention then identifying what I want to improve. Steps are a great place. Keep going and make sure to keep it fun
