Interruptions. Ugh.
Despite the fact that I had to go out of town for three days when my son was in the hospital, my calorie intake each day was spot on (maybe even a little too low). I didn't get to my HIIT workout, but the caloric deficit was definitely there. And then...

I started getting colder during the day, and more easily fatigued. Thought I needed a re-feed and so, after reading numerous articles about the how/why/when of re-feeding, I decided on a two-day, intentional calorie spike. I realized in a few short hours of starting that I was actually getting sick. :( Stomach upset, sore throat, persistent headache. Three days later, I'm feeling better, but hate that my eating was off and I missed another workout. I have no interest in dragging out the scale until I've pumped myself full of water and probiotics, as well reduce my carbs below 75g again. I am hoping, though, that the change-up will confuse my body enough to respond to a caloric deficit again quickly.

Sick of winter. Sick of temps in the teens and new snow everyday. I know it's only February, but it's been a brutal couple of months. Ready for the sun on my face and fresh, balmy breezes blowing through the house. And flip flops. God bless the inventor of flip flops.
