Dani_Suave's Journal, 12 April 2012

I feel very out of control with my eating today. Its been a steady slow fade into carb land and its mainly nibbles. A tablespoon or two of dark chocolate chips, a couple of rice crackers, a bite of the kids cereal. I don't feel good, my body feels like I've gained back a couple of pounds, and its driving me batty. Being home is awesome but there is food right at hand all the time and I am not doing well with resistance.

It's tempting to have a full on indulgence day and then go back to super strict. That thought worries me though because in the past I've always been ok until that first big fall (and it's never waited 5 months to happen), then all bets are off. If I can just .not. then it's all gravy. I'm not ready to be done this time and I refuse to cave dangit!

Still no callback on the job, but I've sent out a couple of other resumes. Patience is a virtue. I'm loving being a stay at home mom and the finances will work themselves out eventually.

Stupid chocolate chips SHUT UP. They're calling my name. I can hear them. Grrr. I'm not hungry or thirsty and I don't want them. I refuse.

Dani, Just put the chocolate way back in the freezer. Harder to get at. When the chips are calling, maybe go outside for a walk or if it's later in the evening start reading a good book, or what works for me is taking a shower. Feels so good after a long day and makes you forget about cravings. Stay strong! Thistle

Thanks Thistle. They're out of easy reach now and I made myself eat an avocado with plenty of salt which has helped a little. Rotten carb monster.

I know exactly what you mean....I have some things that just call out my name too! I have tried to put them up too high, down too low, in the freezer, in the trunk of the car, you name it....and the lousy little boogers just scream louder!!!! About the only advice that I can give is to find something low in carbs to substitute or just tell yourself that the chocolate chips have been infected by storage mites or something equally disgusting. Heck, I'd probably just blow off the little morsels and eat them anyway. Sorry, girlfriend, but I am not much help! Hope you have a great week.
