Here's something I'd add to your awesome mini goal...a small reward afterwards...maybe some new nail polish, an extra hour to sleep in, a new pair of sandals, or some perfume...something personal, something fun and inexpensive will do!

Nice! I also keep my lowest weight logged for a few days in case, like now, salt blows me up, than I fight to get under it.

Those are the best way to lose weight, so I have heard. Just make smaller goals instead of looking at losing say, 50 pounds, just try losing 10% of your body weight, when you reach that goal then work on another 10%. You can reward yourself with little things like a new shirt, or whatever strikes your fancy, as long as it isn't FOOD. lol
Great tip and Good For YOU!! I share in your happiness.

I am the same way. Right now, I have just 2 pounds to lose to my goal, and I'm excited about that. I would feel less excited thinking about the other 60+ pounds that will still need to go after that. Baby steps keep me from feeling overwhelmed. :)

Yes I love the idea of rewards like new tee or what have you. As long as it's not good. Thank y'all for that tip. :)

I concur with SLLockhart I rewarded myself when I lost 10 pounds with a purchase of a new pretty makeup bag. Next ten pounds down could be another reward or a trip to the movie without eating popcorn or candy. I was not raised that food was a reward or the "Behave yourself and mommy will buy you a cookie".
Unfortunately I gained some of my 22 pound weight loss back and I cannot use the makeup bag until I am below a certain weight.
Another positive reinforcement I used in the past was to hang up a pretty dress or suit I could not wear. I hung it in plain sight, NOT in the closet. It is a gentle reminder. I think I will try that now.

Tyaki that is a great idea about hanging up clothing you can't wear. I will have to try that.

Tyaki, I like that idea too!! I may have to do that too. Thanks for the hint.

GREAT idea, Tyaki! I have some pants that I haven't worn in 17 years (they have sentimental value; I wore them when I successfully defended my graduate thesis), and I've kept them all this time, telling myself that I would fit into them again someday. I think I can in another 15 pounds or so. Off to hang them on the closet door!
