No matter what I do, I keep gaining weight!!!! I've been eating less and less and I keep trying to exercise more and more, but I feel so weak, I can barely bring myself to stand up in the shower! It can't be normal to be this tired, even while on a diet. I wish there was something out there to help poor people who don't want to be fat (other than forced starvation, I mean). I'm almost out of steam.

Have you tried to up your protein??? When I was not sure about carbs I too had dips in energy levels. But since I'm focusing on eating more protein and less carbs...my energy levels are amazing. And also I'm finding that my calories are pretty low after the day is counted! Check out Belly Fat Diet by Jorge Cruise. He explains it so well!!! Good luck and keep your head up!!

Your getting plenty of calories. You might need to eat 1500 a day to lose. You might try rotating calories high and lower days (1300, 1500, 1800, 1500, etc.). You need to get the most bang for your buck and focus on eating healthy goods. Plenty of lean protein and high fiber foods. Protein helps us lose best, digests slower to keep us more full and builds muscle. High fiber foods digest slowly and keeps things moving along in our bodies. You need to look at your food diary and ask yourself if your being really honest with all the food you are eating. All those bites, licks and tastes add up. Are you getting enough lean protein, lean dairy, fruits and veggies? Are you eating too many processed foods (contains tons of sodium)? Are you drinking water (8 cups a day is good)? Are you taking your measurements to see if you are losing inches/fat and not seeing the scale move? Spend a week eating being 100% on plan and eating healthy and see what happens. You shouldn't feel weak on 1500 or more calories a day. It may be an indication something is wrong and you might need to get it checked out. Buy frozen, canned or veggies and fruit that are in season. Look for sales on chicken. It's not easy. Good luck!
