I had a terrible weekend for food consumption! I have been doing wonderful thus far with my workouts and have generally stayed under for calorie consumption since I have been on FatSecret. However, this weekend I went out to eat and made some regretably unhealthy choices :( I just have such a hard time when I go out to eat, choosing foods that are good for me or "safe" to eat, but that I can enjoy. I know we all have to indulge now and then, but I feel like this weekend was just too much. On top of it, I didn't feel very good afterwards physically. Does anyone have any suggestions to eat reasonably when going out to eat and how to "indulge" safely?

Do you have the mobile app? You can look up restaurants while you're there and see calorie-wise what everything looks like. Or you can check before you leave if you're looking at the computer. I try to plan what I'm going to eat in advance and then I don't over do it. If you're looking at calories and want to indulge, eat less overall during the day at your other meals. Or exercise more that day. It's good to "trick" your body once in a while with extra calories - some people do it once a week and it seems to help keep weight loss going.

I actually don't have a smartphone, so I can't do the app thing. However, I guess you're right. I could just workout more that day and eat healthier and less during my other meals. I will have to try some tricks because I definitely feel better when I make healthy choices and keep up with my exercise! I just know I gotta indulge a little now and then or I'll go crazy ;) haha
